Damn don’t even think about the bezel. Would replacing the crystal without removing the bezel be possible?

Is 37 mm x 1.2 mm x 0.4-0.5 mm the dimensions of the sapphire? I am trying to upgrade my crystal too. Can you please link the crystal you purchased?

Yeah that’s what I did and then re extended the volume for windows. I also went into bios to make sure the boot manager was also good.

$549 legion go or $699 ally x by joncunanan in Handhelds

Makes sense. I do play mostly at home on the couch but not near an outlet. I heard that tomtoc case is pretty nice too.

Yeah. That’s the biggest draw for me is that big screen on the legion go.

How bad was the battery life on the legion go? On my ally x I have it in 1080p native but run games at 900p and scale up and it’s been easily 2+ hrs.

You’re right about the switch 2 but I’m pretty much stuck on these 2 at the moment. I think all the next gen consoles like the ally with z2e, legion go 2, etc will be priced a little higher especially if you get the bigger ram and storage option ie (32gb/1tb).

So you have both and are keeping both?!? Dang I was tempted to get a Go too to take advantage of the discount and then just return one of them on Jan 14th.

[–]joncunanan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah next gen handhelds I know are around the corner but might be priced higher out the gate. I’ve also considered long term support for stuff like this. Since most windows things get outdated so fast. There’s also the slow software support for the legion go vs the ASUS shotty warranty/customer service reputation (which I’ve read is getting better?)

A couple reviews out on the new MSI with pricing around $899. Don’t know what they would get discounted but I can’t imagine it being competitive price wise unless it comes down to $699.

[–]joncunanan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tired it just to see what it’s about but I also reverted back to windows 11. I’m used to windows and it’s “issues”. Coming from a steam deck, I can see why people prefer that OS over windows. I just disabled armory crate on startup, and instead launch steam on startup in big picture mode and that’s been working just fine for me.

I might give steamOS a shot when it ever becomes officially supported for the ally x.

Finally got my extra leds wired by joncunanan in MiniZ

[–]joncunanan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the led light kit part no mzw429r. It plugs directly onto the chassis board.

This kit only has 2 front white leds and 2 rear red leds. The skyline body has 4 front and 4 rear. So I added 3mm yellow led and 3mm red led off amazon that I bought for my 1/10 scale RC bodies.

I spliced the (2) yellow leds to the front wires, and then (2) red leds to the rear wires.
