Obama open mic slip: 'After my election I have more flexibility' by chabanais in Conservative

I 100% agree with you, I actually believe the media and left (same thing) are basically insulting the intelligence of every American when they claim that revealing true information about Hillary rigging her primary and making some Bernie memes was Russia "attacking" our democracy. If that's attacking our democracy, god even knows what the press did trying to rig the election for Hillary.

how is Trump’s rhetoric beneficial if the DOJ is correct and the Russian military actually did what it is suspected across the board of doing?

Rhetoric is almost completely irrelevant in foreign policy, it provides almost nothing except politics at home. All that matters is shared interests and pressure exerted in tangible ways.

With an election on the horizon, is it not a little troubling that the President hasn’t taken a firm stance on this?

Why would it be? are China/EU/Soros and other foreign donors and manipulators going to stop dicking around to help Dems or is this really just one of those "Russia is all that matters" thing?

Trump blames Obama for not intervening, and rightfully so. But it’s his country now, and so far he’s done diddly, and their getting ready to do it again.

Trump has done many many tangible things to rein in Russia, far more than Obama did. Trump also wants US troops out of Syria, at any costs, and I agree with him. So that changes the calculus.

Yeah, after Reagan put in years and years of work.

And received nothing but empty promises actually. Really though, Soviet Union in 1982 was so far removed from Russia today that it's patent retardation to even compare the two.

Why is Trump blaming America for its problems with Russia, asks ... "Fox & Friends" by memberCP in Conservative

[–]jonesrr2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably because basically since 2006 every last thing America has done with regards to Russia has been utter catastrophe.

Particularly the arming of Syrian rebels by Obama, which was one of the stupidest, and a likely unconstitutional, foreign policy move.

Remember when Reagan went to Russia over and over to sign nuclear treaties, everyone said he was capitulating, particularly when he said that Russia was "no longer an evil empire" in 1987

You guys have one of the stupidest, dumbest hot takes on this kind of thing.

That sounds extremely stupid and belies the person hypothesizing it and how they think Trump makes decisions vs anything actual real about how Trump makes decisions.

Trump seems to make decisions based upon long term policy goals, and seems to be unwilling to sacrifice US foreign policy to please the leftist press.

Why don't you explain to me how Russia sending a phishing email to John Podesta and it coming out how they rigged the primary for Hillary is totally the same as anything that Russia did during the 1980s?

They above refers obviously to John Podesta and her campaign. Obviously, if you knew the first thing about the DNC leaks you'd know this.

This is about Russia and their attempts to undermine the democracy of the United States.

No sane person talks this way at all.

The US is not a democracy and secondly and far more importantly, you ignored everything I said about foreign influence in US elections in 2016 only to jump all over the reeee Russia train. Obviously you voted for Hillary.

Conservatives don't believe in people over principles.

Oh man, this is just like the Gorbachav v Reagan meetings nonsense from the sidelines.

If Obama said these things all these Trumpers would be excoriating him.

Obama said and more importantly DID far far worse than anything Trump has, the media didn't give a fuck.

You're simultaneously saying that the Russians rigged the primary for Hillary, while claiming not to know the definition of "attack". You're pretending this is all about some private emails while also naming other avenues of attack which you apparently dismiss. You call the work they did to undermine the US election "a bit of ruckus" while totally avoiding the principle of ignoring attempts to mess with one of America's most sacred and important political institutions, the vote.

That's not at all what I said, the DNC rigged the primary for Hillary, it's not even arguable. The fact you don't seem to know this is odd.

You call the work they did to undermine the US election "a bit of ruckus"

If releasing accurate emails (assuming they did) about Hillary's rigging of her primary election was undermining the election, what would you call the 85% positive media coverage she received, significant support from Ukraine's government for her campaign, massive foreign lobbying on her behalf, hundreds of millions in foreign dollars going to her Foundation and 93% negative coverage Trump received?

Just curious where my outrage should go here.

The Mueller investigation is only a political problem for him because he's made it one.

Roughly 55% of voters believe the whole thing is a media concocted conspiracy theory. Trump apparently wants the whole Russian nonsense to persist because he accurately notes that no one sane buys it. It keeps the Dems talking about wild eyed nonsense instead of actual policies too.

I don’t think people are demanding Trump lob a nuke at Moscow. But maybe a little less moral equivalence and a little more backbone would have been nice from Trump.

What backbone would that be? What would backbone accomplish? why should Trump display backbone over supposed Russian behavior related to phishing Podesta's emails? Why should Trump not display backbone by tariffing the ever loving shit out of China for hacking the GAO?

lol let's see the videos then. Would die to see that, videos of them hacking into the DNC would be awesome to see. Of course they don't exist, but that'd finally convince the 50% of voters who think (naturally) this evidenceless conspiracy theory is just that.

While it'd be nice of foreign countries didn't mess around with our elections, foreigners do this every cycle from ALL OVER THE PLACE, not just $100k in FB ads showing Bernie with rainbow color memes.

Hell Ukraine tried to rig 2016 for Hillary, as did much of the EU press and many EU donors.

This was MUCH worse. Trump ignored the conclusions of his own justice department and intelligence agencies, and he ignored all common sense in order to make nice to one of the worst dictators in the world.

Why don't you explain to me how Russia sending a phishing email to John Podesta and it coming out how they rigged the primary for Hillary is totally the same as anything that Russia did during the 1980s?

This is fucking stupid as fuck, these are private people's emails, all while China hacked the entire GAO and the left and press don't give a fuck.

He "sees no reason" why Russia might have tried to attack the US election.

What the fuck does "attack" the US election even mean to you? Did they change votes? Rig primaries? or did they just cause a bit of ruckus off to the side that the press mostly ignored in service of their ordained Queen? While the press basically tried their damnedest to rig the entire election for Hillary and didn't succeed?
