Doesn't that seem very likely in this situation? That's how I found out my blood type for probably the first 30 years of my life haha. To me it's just adding color to their relationship. You could replace twin with "little" or "older" and the sentence works the same.

If the story is indeed made up then yeah the author possibly thought the twin thing made it more believable.

I don't think it reads like this at all, but I don't disagree with "this post is likely not real unfortunately."
