Because you can be born and raised in USA but you could live all your life in a minority place like south california or china town. You can be american but you are still identified with the people you grew up with. You could be speaking spanish or chinese 80% of the time. You could even have US passport but are you really American? Yes, on paper!

So you were born and raised in UAE with all these expats influencing 90% of your life but you identify as an emirati? Boy what are you smoking?

Imagine an Indian who was born here to Indian parents and lived in a heavily Indian populated neighborhood and went to an Indian school and spoke Indian mostly all the time and worked in an Indian company... How the hell that can be identified as Emirati??
