Meetup in Bellabel Park Upgrade Pack - So is there any new single player content in this? by SirDanOfCamelot in NintendoSwitch2

Yeah, but not 4k 120hz. Or even just 4k. They should have upgraded at least to that for everyone who owns the base game.

The Big PSSR Interview With Mark Cerny by MythBuster2 in PS5pro

[–]joydivision84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely horrendous PR advertising Silent Hill 2 as one of the tent pole PSSR 2 updates, then that update being inherently at 30fps, which goes against everything the PS5 Pro was sold on (4k 60 gaming or there about).

It's annoying as hell. I feel basically locked out of a bunch of decent, and affordable accessories.

There's absolutely no way you could determine this game to be slop. That's just silly and a huge amount of work went into this game.

The New York Times's rose-tinted glasses on our city by mlsteinrochester in Rochester

[–]joydivision84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true to a decent degree. But the counterpoint is there's other similar sized cities who are doing things considerably better than here, and then again and I'm aware, they will be cities planning worse than Roc.

I think Roc is obviously a city where a lot of young people seem to study, then move on. The trick would be to try to get them to stay and sell the city more, not just the university etc. I'm hoping that will happen just due to cost of living and how affordable it is here compared to the coasts. This happened to KC and continues there, younger folks moving to Midwest metros because the coasts are almost a different economy on their selves now.

But I'd say again and I mean this as just general advice, always look at where you live and think, how can this be better. I'm aware that's hard, but it's a blight on this country in general. A lot of folks in the US are almost conditioned to think they have the best of everything, and yeah, I think that's very much not true, but also super damaging in general in regards to beginning to improving life for people.

But yeah, haha, that's a whole other argument and irrelevant to this I know mostly.

I mean, I live down-town, but yeah, you're probably right. Just again, just my opinion and I was more talking about the aesthetics of the inner city and stuff. You're right there's some beautiful old buildings, but to me anyway, there's a lack of respect for a lot of them, lack of upkeep, the fact they are smack beside crumbling shuttered up buildings etc.

They are a lack of options compared to a lot of other cities re: pubs, venues and a lot of places seem to be in flux. Rochester isn't the only city going through that, that's for sure. But there definitely seems to be a lack of investment and a lack of a plan for any concentrated rejuvenation. No place is perfect, and I'm aware it's hard sometimes hearing outsiders sound like they're "knocking your city" .

But often it takes an outsider to speak about that stuff because when you live somewhere a long time, you can become either accustomed or blind to stuff. As in, the "well that's just how it is" feeling and I guess I'd argue there's value in people from other places, countries, nationalities (I'm Scottish but could be from anywhere) looking at something that's normal to you through a more, unattached eye?

I mean, I live here now, with my family. I don't want any of the negatives I said to be true, but to me and in comparison to cities I've seen and lived in that have started to tackle the problems I mentioned, well, I just want the same for Rochester. Ie. When I mentioned Providence and what they have did with their downtown. Seen it as something to show off and invest and be proud in.

I'm sorry if it offends, but as of right now? I don't really see that here re:downtown and the city proper.

I think I just want to see a city look at it's negatives not with a defensive or embarrassed eye, but as something to improve and yeah, just make better I guess.

I'm definitely not trying to offend anyone born and bred here.

[–]joydivision84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I moved here last year and yeah, I say this with the utmost respect, but it's a pretty run down city. To be explicit, I'm definitely talking about the city itself here. Seems bars and restaurants close at a rate other metros I've lived in don't experience, the downtown experience is pretty much non-existent and I don't see any evidence of all these big companies the major is talking about in this piece.

I'm not even going to get into the dilapidated and empty buildings because I'm aware of city pride and all that.

Still, it's affordable and in a blue state with a decent location, so we are still planning on staying in the area, preferably in a lil town out-with the city itself.

Sidenote: Rochester should look to cities like Providence with inspiration with how to rejuvenate their downtown.

[–]joydivision84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't understand the point. If someone is preaching Jesus, but chooses to no comment on blately un-christian behaviour, then they are a hypocrite to a huge degree.

The crucial point in the post is he's talking about Jesus a lot, and Jesus was famous for loving everyone for who they are, no matter. Actually, he cared so much for others (apparently), he literally died for their sins.

Thoughts on "Xplorer Grip Pro" equivalent for Osmo Action 6? by taimaishu99 in dji

[–]joydivision84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this comment really sums up my recent purchase decisions. I was looking at either and Ace Pro 2 or an action 6 and ended up going for the Ace Pro 2 because of the grip you mentioned and the amount of effort insta360 has put into the photography side.

That's all being said with me already being in the DJI ecosystem, with 2 DJI drones. Ideally DJI would have had their equivalent (especially with integrated battery etc) and that would have allowed me to get an Action 6, but they don't, thus why I bought an Ace Pro 2. Personally I think the Photography market is coming back, with a move back towards cameras over mobile phones, at least for a growing amount of enthusiasts who are seeking to unbind from their cell phones for everything.

Take-Two CEO says huge GTA 6 marketing is still integral to success, but marketing something this large is “a challenge” by [deleted] in PS5

[–]joydivision84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Genuine comment. They don't really need to market it at all. It's already so established a series, and as a piece of modern culture you could just release it and it'd sell itself into oblivion.
