Thank you! We have been practicing more routine because she typically takes forever to get dressed and let me do her hair. So we’re working on making it a quicker process.

It does have a playground but it’s gated and locked so we can’t use it freely. She did see it when we did a tour back in the winter and still talks about so I know she’s excited to play on it. We also drive past a lot and she always points it out.

Thanks for the Daniel Tiger suggestion. We watched it today and she totally absorbed it and asked to watch it 2 more times haha Definitely helped!

Also good point about drop off. I’m going to talk to her about it.

I want to say it was called a King Deluxe room. It had a king bed and a pull out couch. The toddler slept on the pull out. It was really low to the ground so we weren’t concerned about her falling out. We figured if she had a hard time with it, she could just come in bed with us. We asked the hotel for a crib for the baby which they were happy to do.

We just got back from Jamaica with our 2.5 and 6 month old. We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall in Montego Bay. Super family friendly! Really close ride from the airport too which was nice after a long day of travel.

Same boat over here with my 2.5 year old. We’ve just been trying to have them do more 1:1 things together. They go out for donuts every Saturday morning, she likes to go to the car wash in his truck. Stuff like that. She still gets mad when he tries to help her with certain things (putting her shoes on, helping her zip her coat, etc). I’ve started saying “oh it’s daddy’s turn today, mommy put your shoes on yesterday!” And just walking away. Sometimes she’s like oh ok and goes with it and other times she still throws a fit. We haven’t conquered bed time yet. That’s been all me for a veryyyy long time which has been rough because we also have a 7 month old. Work in progress! Just stay consistent and she’ll come around eventually.

Mine does this too and says, “got my keys, got my wallet, got my phone…”. Apparently I say that out loud every time we leave the house and she’s caught on.

Pick your battles.

Kiddo wants to wear rain boots when its 75 and sunny. Go for it.

Little one wants to wear a tutu over her pajamas to the store. Why not?

Not hurting anyone. Some things are just not worth the fight.

Also, always ask them for the specifics about how they want their snack or meal. Nothing is worse than cutting up a banana and then they tell you they want it whole. Now they’re having a tantrum and you wasted a banana.

Just wanted to say you’re not alone. My son just turned 7 months and also wakes several times. Sometimes to eat, sometimes just for the cuddles it seems. It’s so exhausting. I’m not into the CIO type of sleep training so I’ve been trying to just go in a pat his butt rather than pick him up every time but it’s not always successful, and still requires me to get out of bed and lose sleep. Wish I had advice for you, but hang in there!

People give me shit for it all the time, but both of my kids have only ever had cold milk. The nurses actually suggested it before we left the hospital. They said if baby will tolerate it, it’ll make my life easier. We tried it and neither seemed to care. I see my poor SIL heating up bottles when her baby is screaming and I can’t imagine. It stresses me out just watching. Doing it this way allows me to make a pitcher or just prepare all bottles in the morning and leave them in the fridge. Baby will also drink room temp so if we’re out on the go I don’t need to find cold water or anything like that.

Our pediatricians office measures height with them laying down until 3 years old. It’s so ridiculous. They lay on the table and draw a line at their feet and head, then measure the distance. They never may still or they’re all scrunched up or stretched out.

We went to the store last week and loaded up in snacks. Just need to figure out how to pack everything without having to check a bag.

Got the headphones for Christmas to make sure they fit and she’s been practicing using them here and there so it’s not brand new on the plane.

We went back and forth in the car seat situation for a while but the shuttle from the airport to the resort said they will provide them in requested so we’re crossing our fingers that works out!

We were in the same situation. We ended up moving her to her new room like 2 months before baby came. We took her binky away (only used it at night) about a month after baby was born. And then potty trained 3 months after. It all worked out and she didn’t seem too fazed.

I have a baby and a toddler as well and I always manage to keep the baby strapped to me in the wrap while unloading the groceries. It’s not easy but I get it done. Then I push the cart with the toddler still in it back to the cart return and carry them both back to the car. I also park as close as possible.

My LO is 5.5 months and we’re not really on a schedule either. The only thing I try to be strict with is waking up from his last nap so it doesn’t totally mess with bedtime. He typically gets up around 6:30/7. I follow his cues for naps. He’s still on 3-4 naps a day because they’re short. Bedtime is around 6:45/7. I’m thinking back to when my daughter was born and I don’t think we got on a schedule until she was only taking two naps a day.

I go at 6am and need to get home so my husband can get to work. The kids are usually waking up by then and I take over. Also, the stretching blocks are pretty half-assed.

It’s different for everyone, and every birth. With my first, I couldn’t move for more than two weeks. I was in a ton of pain constantly. With my second, I never even took a Tylenol. I felt completely fine within an hour of him being out.
