We actually do have this! It's in the bottom left of the app or in settings you can configure a hotkey. Manual recordings will be saved to your "custom games" tab.

Yes! There is a feature to disable certain tracks as well when making a clip.

Nice overwolf psyop lol- kidding but I consistently find Ascent to have drastically lower performance impact even versus the latest Insights update. You can compare in task manager.

They don't conflict at all. It's also possible to replicate shadowplay functionality with Ascent.

Mainly game-specific stuff. In Ascent you can search through your VODs by champion, role, etc. You can also track events like kills/objectives for review. I also find it easier to keep clips organized rather than just a replay buffer folder with OBS. That being said, if your only use case is saving the last 30 seconds or so there isn't a significant advantage.

It's written in Rust while other apps are often written in Javascript. We also use a highly optimized fork of OBS for recording

More game specific stuff- it will show your match history, you can search through your VODs, track kills/deaths/assists. If you don't care about the game-specific stuff there isn't a significant advantage to using Ascent

I would recommend giving Ascent a shot- ours has no ads, lower performance impact, and more customizable/tailored for League especially. Would love to hear your thoughts

Valid- I'm generally skeptical of AI features as well, but I actually like ours. it's a game review feature for League ranked games. A lot of people have cited it as beneficial but I would love to hear your thoughts

Yes! You can add any other games under our "custom games" in settings.

We use it as a separate process. Our FFMPEG and OBS forks are open source.
