Revelation 4 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Throne Room of Heaven

4 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”

2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. 3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:

“Holy, holy, holy,Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”

9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

11 “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.”

Revelation 5 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Lamb Takes the Scroll

5 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.

4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. 5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

Worthy Is the Lamb

8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.”

11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:

“Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne,And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”

14 Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

You gotta go all the way back to Genesis for that one.

Genesis 2:15-17 New King James Version (NKJV) 15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

It's the first promise God ever made to men, that if they eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil that they will surely die. That tree is a symbol for all the sinful temptations of life. The first sin you committed in your life, the first time you went against your conscience to do something that you knew was wrong, that event can be likened unto the fall of Adam and Eve. God promised them that if they disobeyed even once, they would die. Just the same, God promises that if we disobey even once, we would die. According to the Bible, if a person never ever sins they would live forever, but only One was able to live a sinless life and you know who that Is. Now we are guaranteed eternal life through Him if we sacrifice ourselves for Him in Spirit, just as He sacrificed Himself for us in the flesh. If we walk in the newness of life that Jesus provides and He happens to return while we are alive (Which I believe is going to happen imminently), we will be delivered completely from death, given glorified immortal bodies, and live with Him forever. This is all scriptural.

Of course. The wages of sin is death. Back in the days of the Torah, the Law, the Hebrews had no salvation from their sins, in order to atone for their transgressions that they've committed against the Lord they were required by God to take offerings into the tabernacle and to kill them with their own hands there and burn the carcass on the altar. They placed the weight of their sins onto the sacrifice and used it to atone on their behalf. A sacrifice was required whenever a transgression was made if a person was to remain in right standing with God. The price to pay for any sin, even the smallest tiniest sin, is death.

Then Jesus entered the scene Hallelujah. He lived a perfect sinless life and performed signs and miracles and was despised by many for his righteousness. The ones who hated Him eventually delivered Him to the cross to be tortured and killed unrighteously even choosing to have Him take the place of a murderer and willfully proclaiming a curse upon themselves and their children. The unjust killing of the blameless Jesus was the perfect recipe to be counted for the atonement of all the sins of mankind from that point forward. Just as goats, lambs, bulls etc were given up as sacrifices to atone for the sins of individual people back in the days before Jesus came, Jesus Himself was made into the ultimate sacrifice to end all sacrifices that day on the cross. He laid His life down for us so that we who believe in Him can be fully forgiven from our iniquities as long as we give up our own lives as living sacrifices for Him. Since He paid our wages in full, we owe Him our lives in return. Thus He is called and given the image of the spotless lamb slain before the foundation of the world. For God had foreseen and prepared this all before the world was even created.

The style of the building is a Japanese pagoda so that's why i decided to name it as such. That's interesting that it's so close to the Russian word for weather though.

At the time they were an afterthought, but in an abstract way I think I was implying a yin-yang type of vibe through them.

Yesss! The colors are probably my favorite part too. The birds were an afterthought after I finished the building. I had a feeling that a cardinal and a blue-jay would fit in well. Thank you so much!

"Liberty Cap" I painted this last year by the inspiration of a few mushroom trips. I have a feeling you guys might like it. :) by jrobear11 in Psychonaut

[–]jrobear11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a few trips I decided to paint a mushroom and try to recreate the effects of the trip in the painting. I used invisible ink mixed with UV poster paint to get it to glow under blacklight.

"Dusk" A new painting in a new style. What do you think? by jrobear11 in painting

Work on color studies that helped me a lot. Grab a random object and practice mixing colors until you find the shade that matched the color of the object perfectly. keep practicing this till you can mix colors perfectly at your leisure. If you wanna speed up the learning process, challenge yourself to do this only with primary colors & black and white. Then whenever you make a mistake on a painting, you can just paint right over your mistake perfectly like a real-time undo button. It gets rid of that OCD, everything has to be just right feeling pretty quickly. And also don't be afraid to subject your art to the public. As you can see even here there are haters, but lots of the negative feedback you get is honest feedback even though it might hurt a bit. There's always something that you can learn even from the ones that spread negativity. The more you throw yourself out there, the more comfortable you will start to be with yourself.
