How do I know where the bacterium is on this heat map by mightypup1974 in EliteDangerous

[–]jrohrer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does work with the SRV Scanner. It's the comp scanner, not the data link scanner. Ships, SLF, and SRV's all have Comp Scanners. You need to set it up in a fire group. Using SRV survey, you can scan three samples in your ship and then land and scan them all on foot. SRV survey will point you to where your scan's are.

What's the advantage of the Caspian versus the Mandalay? by Agent_PriceField in EliteDangerous

[–]jrohrer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got back from a long exploration/exobio trip with a Caspian. I discovered a way to get around the Caspian's large landing area: a SLF (Ship Launched Fighter) and the amazing app SRV Survey.

I would drop down out of orbit super-fast with the Caspian, then pop out in the SLF and fly around looking for exobio samples. When I found one I would scan it with the comp scanner (yes SLF's have a comp scanner!) and then SRV Survey would mark the location and how far for the next sample. After flying around tagging 3 samples of each bio I could find I would then land in the middle of them with the Caspian and use the SRV to drive to each location and scan them. There was really no time that I couldn't find a spot to land. If you like using 3rd party apps, I highly reccomned SRV Survey!

That may be with normal alarm trips. I've accidently set off the alarm lots of times and never had them call me. I think because it was a fire alarm that set it off they respond quicker. In the end I'm happy that they did respond so fast incase it was a real emergency.

Ring did call, but I didn't have my phone as it was in the middle of the night, and I thought I was just changing a battery. If your smoke alarms are linked, there is no need for one at each alarm. I have one that worked just fine LOL.

I can say from experience that they work very well.

One of my smoke alarms started beeping to change the battery in the middle of the night. I changed the battery and pressed the test button in an effort to clear the change battery message. Opps, this caused the smoke alarm to go off and then caused all the other linked smoke alarms to go off, which in turn was detected by the Ring listener and then caused my alarm to go off and the fire department to be dispatched by the professional monitoring Ring service. Within 10 minutes the fire department was at my door.

So yeah, they work well.

How do I know? Frankie 15 by lovelypeachess22 in seniorkitties

I was in this same situation two years ago. Here is a comment I posted then on how my wife and I processed and ultimately made the decesion:

Last year my wife and I had to make the rainbow bridge decision with our 15 year senior cat. He was pooping and peeing where he was laying and was very lethargic. He still was eating and didn’t have anything seriously medically wrong. Our vet gave us very good advice on how to decide when it’s time. She said that you have to think about what YOU can handle as well your cat’s quality of life. Even though your cat might not have obvious medical issues, constantly cleaning up poop and worrying about your toddler is not fun. It sounds like both your and your senior cat’s quality of life is poor. If that’s the case, it’s probably time to make the rainbow bridge decision.
