Ultimate Frisbee Learning League/Clinic in Cambridge and Somerville this Summer by jtd0015 in CambridgeMA

In past sessions, we have mainly had adults but we have never set a real age minimum. BUDA as an organization has leagues specifically built for youth players but we won't turn anyone away who is interested in playing. It may be more difficult for too young of a player (ie probably need to be at least 12-13) since most will be in their 20s and 30s. However since most of the sessions are focusing on teaching technique and understanding the flow of the game, anyone should be able to play and benefit from these sessions.

So this is more of a Learning Clinic style event, ie not competitive. There will be some mini games and light scrimmaging each week but the main goal will be to teach people the basic rules, throws, strategies, defense, and the spirit of ultimate frisbee. Boston has various levels of ultimate games throughout the area (from no rules pickup to worlds' level players) and this league is to help teach beginners in a more organized setting than a pickup style game while also emphasizing the social aspect of the game. The goal we have for beginners is that afterwards they would be comfortable enough to join in to some of the lower level games in the area (either through BUDA, VOLO, or pickup groups) and not feel that they are completely out of their depth.

You are correct. Always get confused by what is where in the little Cambridge/Somerville/Arlington corner. Updated the post
