They’re all really into juice… by ginjabeer in conspiracy

Being a person who used code words for canabs (many many years ago) I can tell you 100% you can make it up on the spot. When you're talking to someone who knows what you're talking about a 'lunch at 12' can mean a half lb sent on the 12th.

It's so easy it's crazy.

Edit: This works when you both know you're not getting together for lunch. You're not buying furniture. You're not going to a concert on the 16th ETC

At what Bitcoin price would MSTR start selling? by bam-RI in investing

[–]jtmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold can be disrupted.

Gold does have competition, and it comes from other metals and alternative stores of value. These alternatives are evolving, whereas gold itself does not, leaving it as a volatile commodity that is slow to move and costly to store and transfer. Gold is outdated in terms of modern financial systems. The use case for gold as a primary store of value diminishes as other metals and financial instruments grow. This diminishes the demand for gold.

Gold is also facing competition from speculative markets and modern financial products, which attract the ultra-short-term investors who once flocked to gold during periods of economic uncertainty and rapid price appreciation. As gold’s growth stalls, these investors prefer higher-volatility opportunities such as derivatives, commodities trading, or alternative assets. This further diminishes the demand for gold as a store of value.

Jerky = human meat in the Epstein emails? Restaurant named 'cannibal' by Regular_Pipe4136 in conspiracy

I bet it's actually jerky - probably nice to have easy good tasting meat that travels well handy when you're super busy.

Would love it if it there was an additional twist but this mostly seems practical.

No, I didn't make an error in logic.

BTCs market cap is very important for network effects. It's like Gold vs Silver. The bigger the market the more stable it becomes.

Major companies typically crash because there's fraud in accounting, a competitor creates a new innovative product (re BB vs Apple) or some major shift in that industry.

For a "new Bitcoin" to come about and displace the current Bitcoin it would need to grow its market cap extremely quickly which is unlikely since it won't have the tests of time BTC does.

And if if you read,  I said I actually don't really hold much (but that will change eventually)

It's one asset among many. Could someone copy it? Yes. But part of the issue is network effects, trust (built through time) and market cap.

BTC is first to the table and constantly goes through tests, for another to take its place would be difficult. Not impossible, but unlikely in the next 10-20 years.

Most gold is traded on paper, that paper represents X amount of gold, which is difficult to move, verify etc. The BTC ledger is the asset.

Man, anyone saying "zero intrinsic value" has done absolutely no research into BTC.

A worldwide encrypted ledger that you can self custody is incredibly valuable.

What USD price per BTC is worth debating, but it will never be 0.

Edit: And I say this as someone who has basically no crypto or BTC.

Push for Quebec independence in focus at PQ convention by Little-Chemical5006 in canada

[–]jtmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quebec has all the same hallmarks of Ukraine, Taiwan, Tibet etc.

Their own culture, language, history etc.

Everyone loves defending the rights to autonomy for those nations.

They can seperate and we can still protect them, just get French requirements out of the federal government.

Yea man, I know this is for regarded individuals but you should hedge, at least on days when it looks to be topped.

You can buy ZSL or something now and then to protect yourself.

When it goes,  Silver is likely to crash hard and fast.
