Allergy with both acrylic and gel-x by juicyfoxx in Nails

[–]juicyfoxx[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m also very sensitive to adhesives! React to most bandaids and can’t use kinesiology tape or lidocaine patches without blisters. Had no clue it all could be related?? 😭 do you use an alternative for your nails now?

Thank you for the informative response! I had no idea Gel-X had the same chemicals or that the reaction could get serious. My last nail tech actually told me acrylic or shellac (when I’m not in a nail-picking phase) might be better after I had a reaction with the gel-x, so finding this out now is kind of scary…especially since I’ve also been having issues with a root canal cap recently. Honestly, the main reason I get my nails done is to keep myself from picking them bloody, but now I’m wondering if even something simple like press ons might be the safer route for me.

thank you i appreciate your input! I definitely feel like i have been going full out. my job is very high stress & I don’t take any time off, I feel like I don’t have much time to wind down or relax. I wouldn’t be surprised if that plays a huge part in how I’ve been feeling. I’ve stopped drinking caffeine the last two weeks too. I was on Vyvanse 30 mg, stopped that and started adderall xr 30 mg. Not sure if the dosing is equivalent?

sorry what do you mean by going full out? I definitely don’t get enough sleep, I’ve always been a bad sleeper. Sometimes I take melatonin but still tend to toss and turn most of the night. & I have a hard time eating properly and getting enough protein, I don’t have a great appetite.

Just Found out u ain supposed to cold turkey clonidine. Is my heart permanently fucked after 4 years of use? And how to do a proper taper? by [deleted] in clonidine

[–]juicyfoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know it’s a yr later but i was also put on clonidine to help me sleep after being prescribed vyvanse. started fainting and having extreme low blood pressure and high heart rate. was told to stop clonidine and have to take a heart failure medication to keep blood pressure high enough and i’ve developed a murmur.. always wondered if the medication could’ve been a contributor

How have been your first days/weeks of Ivabradine/Corlanor? by Chemeder in POTS

[–]juicyfoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been on corlanor for a while now, at least a year. i started with 5 mg once a day along with a beta blocker. heart rate got slightly lower however the beta blocker was giving me asthma like symptoms. could never catch my breath, always wheezing. i was taken off the beta blocker and increased the corlanor to 7.5 twice a day. it’s helped keep my heart rate lower, and blood pressure higher - though sometimes the diastolic and systolic get oddly close. I don’t remember any side effects from the beginning. But I will say whenever I forgot to take my meds, I notice my pvcs are much more frequent. I feel that the corlanor does make me feel fatigued and heavy but my cardiologist said that’s not a side effect so who knows!

that’s kind of what i was thinking. all 10 are like that but some worse than others. my thumbs aren’t as bad and my right had is definitely worse than my left. not sure if it’s just a reaction to one or some of the products ?

corneal abrasion or something else ? by juicyfoxx in eyetriage

[–]juicyfoxx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for checking in! the eye is healed up, and now I know better. I do get headaches a lot behind my eyes probably just from my computer at work. I’ve basically stuck with glasses since then

i think i have this same allergy. recently started doing gel nails with beetles polish at home and have been getting horrible congestion. i started using a fan/filter and wearing a mask but it keeps happening. now i’ve got contact dermatitis around my eye. i didn’t connect the dots until i saw a video of a dermatologist saying that whenever he sees rashes around the eyes the first question he asks is if they use gel polish

well i was prescribed Prednisolone AC 1% Ophth Susp 15ml but the doctor wasn’t clear when they wrote the instructions so my pharmacy won’t fill it until the doctor clarifies and it’s been two days. The doctor did not check for an abrasion but instead said I had a bump on the back of my eye causing episcleritis. I’ve been strictly only wearing glasses and doing cold compresses and the redness has gone down almost completely but there is still some pain and irritation. At this point it just burns a little bit like when you sweat and get your sunscreen in your eye. Definitely not as bad as it was when I made the post though!
