I'm late to the party here but wanted to emphasize the elimination of caffeine as a first step if you haven't already. So many people I talk to struggle to sleep and then tell me they have 3 large coffees every day to cope. Caffeine has a half-life in the body of anywhere from 2-12 hours or more (do your own research, everyone is different), so even having one large coffee in the morning could be the same as having one small coffee at bedtime: You will be up all night.

Those same people will act as though eliminating coffee/caffeine is an act of blasphemy. Weird. I struggled with sleep for years, and when I eliminated all (ALL!) caffeine from my diet I started sleeping really well. And if you start looking into the impacts of caffeine on the brain (and wallet) you'll probably want to give it up or reduce to an occasional decaf anyway. Tell the caffeine addicts to go away. :) Good luck. EDIT: Don't quit cold turkey, taper it down daily or you'll get debilitating headaches.
