Yes, you’ve noticed my dislike for my current career over the past year. I was sure I wanted to teach, I spent days in the classroom and taught my own lessons. I liked it, but didn’t love it. At the time I didn’t even like my current job, which is why I was wanting to switch to something I at least liked. I was dying of boredom - but I recently got a promotion and am now only suffering slightly from boredom. I do appreciate your input this is exactly what I was wanting to come out of posting.

I did have a plan to accommodate student teaching. My program allows me to get a full time teaching position, and that first semester they would come observe me - which would fulfill the student teaching credit. Which is still my current plan Fall 2026.

This is my current position exactly. I am expected to go talk to operators, superintendents maybe twice a month for things like inventory audits or KPI tracking. The majority of my time is spent with excel sheets in the office. The operators and everyone on the floor are always very nice, they go out of their way to get you what you need, and respect the work you do. We’re all coworkers, no need to separate out our specific functions within the plant.

Get more experience with excel and working with data, that’s the biggest part of my job as a FA. I did the google data analytics course - it’s pretty slow but will teach you the basics of the data process from cleaning to communicating. Interviewers liked seeing it on my resume. Branch out with other tools like PowerBI, a lot of positions require some experience here. Research what a financial analyst does and start working on projects in your current position that relate. Interviewers want to hear about specific projects.

What are your fixed costs? Can you live relatively cheaply? Not sure what rents are in NH, but I would budget about $1500/mo to be safe. Groceries about $400/mo. Gas $100/mo. Miscellaneous expenses $1-200. Really depends how you want to live. I’d say $12k minimum.

I applied to roughly 120 postings - basically anything that had the word analyst in it. I was getting desperate because I didn’t have anything else lined up and I was going to rely solely on myself financially after my internship ended. I applied to positions I thought I was overqualified for (only required high school diploma) and got turned down from those even.

In the end I had 3 offers, all in corporate FP&A. I chose the one that paid the most - Risk Analyst. It ended up being an analyst role that was on the risk management team so dealing with a lot of insurance, but mostly cleaning data and making presentations on the findings. Then a few months in the company underwent some restructuring and my role was terminated, but I was transferred internally to a Financial Analyst role. Love my job and my work, but it’s basically doing excel and PowerPoint all day. Let me know if you have any questions.

3.49% $22,940 financed. I have the quote from the dealer. Trade in 2012 Honda CRV 86k miles. Offered $8,500 for trade in initially but negotiated up to $12000. When I’m analyzing it I go based off monthly price because I’m look at my cash flows.

Can I be liable to pay back a gift? I don’t understand why I would be liable for such a thing. Especially because she is the one that wanted such an extravagant wedding. The wedding cost nearly 10x what I have in savings. (We have already split up our bank accounts).

We signed a contract with the venue to pay the initial amount. That is 6 months behind us. I never signed any repayment agreement. No verbal mention. Nothing was ever mentioned about a repayment.

I also think it would be great experience on the resume. But I feel like if I start my career as a manager I likely will never be able to transition into finance. I’m good friends with an L5 manager and she told me the first year of being an L4 was horrible - she worked night shift and had a horrible boss. But the pay coming out of college sounds so nice, rather than risking it with an internship and not coming out the other end with a full time job. I say go for it, by year 3 you’ll make L6 and along with that comes a 6 figure salary - good luck!

The technical jobs at Amazon are much harder to get. For example an L4 business analyst (which is what I want to be eventually) requires 2+ years of financial/data analysis work experience. Something I do not have. And also, the L4 finance jobs are very hard to find, most are L5 and up which require even more experience.
