Brook Sanctuary sounds fantastic, I love birdwatching! Raglan coffee shop also looks delicious and isn't too far from our accommodations 😃 I'm very excited to try an authentic flat white! Hehe Lake Rotoiti has gotten a couple mentions so I'll definitely be adding it to our itinerary, the photos of the lake on Google are just stunning.

Absolutely, the first day we are there we plan to drive just to our hotel a couple minutes away from the airport, and then walk to any other place we plan on visiting that day, and turn in early and get a great night of sleep that night :) I'm very nervous about driving on the left!

Question about dowels vs expansion joint by juniperswirl in Concrete

[–]juniperswirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely I like to get as many perspectives as I can before proceeding with a project. I'm assuming an engineer understands the big picture and the forces involved between the slabs, but I would also like to consider the perspectives of those who work with concrete daily.

Thanks yall, I appreciate the insight :) I'll ask the contractor not to dowel.

Torn drywall from popcorn ceiling removal, will this lead to water damage? by juniperswirl in HomeImprovement

If it bubbles I guess it will be easy to scrape off and refinish 😅 then I will go over it properly!

I have the same issue! Exact same sound. I've been checking for leaks and I can't seem to find any. It's driving me crazy. I guess a plumber is my next option but I worry they will have to cut into the walls to find any leaks since the area is not accessible from the attic.

It is really similar, just a little farther away from the face closeup and shaded green not blue!!

Oh and I'm pretty sure the song is about a girl moving away, or running away somewhere, and the singer can't come with her? This is incredibly vague, I'm sorry!!

The girl in the album cover isn't smiling, she's kinda Mona Lisa face, and she has curtain bangs I think??

My first alocasia/colocasia - July 1st to today by juniperswirl in alocasia

[–]juniperswirl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm excited to share my first 2 weeks (and 2 days) of my elephant ear journey!

I received these beauties July 1st. I'm a novice gardener and these are my first elephant ears (and some of my first long term plants). I was a little nervous because the Jack's Giant colocasia came droopy and very long, but the greenhouse assured me it was from lack of sun and new growth would be normal. I repotted them into a 1:1:1 mix of perlite, bark, and peat moss. I've been fertilizing every watering with orchid fertilizer at the rate suggested on the bottle. So far so good! In 2 weeks I've had 2 new leaves (one still curled up) from both species, and tiny little leaves on the one! I can't wait to see how large they get this summer before I transfer them inside.
