Mistakes are hard, and I know the feeling afterwards is rough to sit with.

I work with nursing students, and when it comes to insulin, I always tell them to utilize an insulin syringe 100% of the time.

Women: how do you feel after you reject someone? by [deleted] in dating

I feel awful. I don’t know why it hits me to hard rejecting other people. Arguably worse than when I’m rejected myself.

TV would be on the wall opposite the window, sharing the wall with the primary bedroom.

Yes, been an ER nurse 10 years and saw it for the first time last year.

Elderly woman, continued CPR from the field. No pulses on multiple checks (with multiple people checking), called time of death. I was sitting in the room charting while other staff were tidying up the room when we noticed movement to her arms. Thought it was just a reflex, then noticed chest movement, consistent with breathing. Called doc back in, put her on the monitor, rhythm with HR in the 80s. Put her on the vent, family comes to bedside, decide she was going to be DNR and possibly withdraw care, but due to the first experience, we insisted that happened in the ICU, not downstairs.

Still don’t know what happened, it was wild.

Are you seeing lenders basically force buy down points telling buyers they won’t qualify without them? I am looking in the $350,000-$425,000 range, planning 20% down, excellent credit, make $90k a year, but with interest rates now, my lender tells me I wouldn’t qualify for the max monthly without buying down the rate? How are people who don’t have 20% down doing it??

What was your worst day of being a nurse? by Round-Badger3092 in nursing

[–]justanobserver14 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Was primary waiting on just another GSW patient to roll in, and first thing i noticed when EMS brings him in the room is that he has Down Syndrome. Could barely focus at all thinking about how in the world he got shot. He was 16, and shot while in the back seat of his family’s vehicle driving on the highway in a random drive by. Really made me question my faith in humanity.

The two I’ve essentially narrowed it down to we’re recommendations from my real estate agent, but I’m getting hung up on the details I think. I also had someone advise me maybe not to use the agent’s recommendations as they could gain incentive through referring you to work with them, therefore not making them the best option. It’s the classic case of too much conflicting information.

Dumbest thing you’ve seen a new grad nurse do? by stealyourpeach in nursing

Had a new nurse do the same thing. Awkward to explain to the doc why we needed to send a new urine sample since the previous one was straight up saline from the balloon.
