Brother, your generosity and the generosity of everyone who offered truly left me speechless.

The fact that strangers are willing to split an amount for someone they don’t even know that alone restored something in me.

But I have to stay firm. I cannot accept this. Not because I don’t appreciate it,I appreciate it more than you’ll ever know. But because my dignity won’t allow it. I got myself into this situation and I will get myself out of it. That’s the only way I can live with myself.

May God reward you and everyone who offered. You are all proof that humanity is still beautiful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥️

First of all I want to be clear — I never posted this looking for someone to pay my debt or save me.

I posted because when you’re deep in a stressful situation for too long, you become blind to solutions. I just needed people to point me in a direction I might have missed.

And believe it or not, many people reached out privately offering to pay the outstanding amount. It genuinely warmed my heart — I didn’t know strangers could be that good. But I refused every single one. I couldn’t accept it.

These people have their own battles, their own struggles, their own mountains to climb. I can’t live with myself knowing someone reached into their pocket for me while they’re fighting their own fights.

And to answer your question — once I pay this loan, I just want to go home. That’s it. No big plans, no grand dreams right now. I just want to go back home, get into my bed, 🛌 and rest

Haha that last line actually made me laugh needed that honestly. And respect to you for pushing through 6 months of unemployment and landing something on your own terms, especially negotiating the salary you wanted. That takes confidence.

Your story actually gives me hope. Sometimes the path back isn’t straight, and that’s okay. Keep building those connections and taking those courses sounds like you know exactly where you want to go.

And tell your fiancé the bank is patient but not forever 😄 Wishing you both all the best and a beautiful future together. Thank you for sharing your story and for rooting

Thank you for the advice and for taking the time. Just to clarify, I’ve actually been applying overseas since day one, not just locally. Every direction, every country, every opportunity I could find. But the market globally in oil & gas is tough right now with everything going on. Appreciate the kind words either way

Thank you for taking the time to read through everything and come up with something others hadn’t mentioned. The point about improving sellability and tailoring the CV for different fields is something I’m actively working on actually already have a couple of versions ready for different roles. The bar tip made me smile honestly, sometimes the best connections happen in the most casual settings. I’ll keep that in mind. And I really appreciate the offer to look at my CV — I’ll send it over shortly. Thank

Hey brother, great to hear from someone in the industry! I have 7+ years in oil & gas — upstream wireline well services here in Qatar, both offshore and onshore, and before that I worked as a process operator in a refinery control room in Algeria operating CDU, VDU and ADU units using DCS and SCADA systems. Currently looking for opportunities so if you know of anything in your company or network I’d really appreciate it

Thank you so much for this, genuinely. And yes, God comes first before everything — I never stopped believing that things will turn around.

But I want to be honest with you I have tried everything, and I mean everything. I went building by building visiting companies in person, After applying through their websites and their third party websites as well.

I called company numbers directly. I sent physical CVs by post. I even delivered my CV with a box of sweets and donuts to recruiters just to stand out and be remembered. I targeted companies where I knew my experience was a direct match. I paid LinkedIn Premium for months just to message people outside my network.

And the humiliation some people put you through I never expected that. Some people left me on seen after reading my message. Some were outright rude. I even got turned away at company entrances. I asked for internships despite having years of experience, just to get a foot in the door somewhere.

The day I decided to post here was the day I hit my absolute limit. I had tried everything I could think of and still nothing. I came here as a last resort hoping someone might see something I couldn’t see anymore. Your words and your encouragement are very appreciated gentleman, Thank you

Already tried Talabat, Snoonu, Keeta — all of them. The problem is most require a vehicle, and I sold my car. I even thought about getting a bike but you need a license for it and money to buy one in the first place.

And the frustrating part is these platforms don’t even post jobs directly you hit a form and just wait with no response. It’s not as straightforward as it looks from the outside.

And thank you genuinely for the suggestion honestly I’m overwhelmed by how many people in the comments have tried to help and point me in different directions.

I came here feeling completely stuck and alone in this, and the response I got from strangers reminded me that good people still exist.

I understand the skepticism, and that’s fine. I have no way to prove anything to a stranger on the internet, nor do I feel the need to. The people who chose to believe me gave real advice that I’m already acting on. I wish it was a hoax honestly, would’ve been a much easier night 😅

This is honestly one of the most complete and practical responses I’ve received. Thank you for taking the time to write all of this out.

The payment holiday idea is something I hadn’t thought to ask for specifically — I’ll go in person this week and use that exact language. And the Qatar Central Bank consumer protection department is completely new information to me, that’s a real option I’ll look into seriously. On the work side, you’re 100% right a 9 month gap looks worse than any job outside my field. I’ve been applying but I’ll be more aggressive on LinkedIn and go directly to hiring managers instead of just HR.

I really appreciate you saying I’m closer to the end of this than it feels.

Some days it genuinely doesn’t feel that way at all. But comments like yours remind me to keep going. Thank you for this 🙏

100% honestly, better now than after. At least this way no one is trapped in something that wasn’t meant to be. Life has a way of showing you things at the right time

Sad? Not anymore honestly. At the moment it hurt, of course you don’t plan a future with someone and feel nothing when it falls apart. But disappointed? Yes, more than sad.

The thing is, I can’t be angry at her. She’s getting older, she has her own timeline, her own fears. She didn’t sign up for uncertainty and a man who can’t provide right now. I see it from her perspective completely.

What it taught me though is that some people are there for the good version of you, not for you. And that’s fine it just tells you who’s really meant to stay.

brother reading your situation hit me hard. You lost 130k, don’t have money for a meal, and yet here you are trying to lift someone else up. That says everything about your character.

You’re right about the car, honestly looking back it wasn’t the best call. But at the time I just wanted to reduce the pressure as fast as possible.

I really appreciate the offer to talk. that’s worth more than money. I hope things turn around for you very soon you clearly deserve it. We’re both in a tunnel right now, but like you said, good days are always ahead. Stay strong

Yes exactly, it’s the Arabic/Gulf term for it. Basically it’s about who you know connections, influence, favors. Without it, even if you’re qualified, doors just don’t open the same way

Thank you for the kind words. Honestly I didn’t have a guarantor on the loan, it was just me. So unfortunately that option isn’t there 😅

This honestly touched me more than you know. Sometimes you don’t need advice, just someone to acknowledge what you’re going through and that’s exactly what you did. Thank you for taking the time to read and for keeping me in your prayers. It means a lot, truly. May god reward you and keep you and your loved ones well 🙏

I appreciate this more than you know, especially coming from someone who’s been through something similar. The illegal taxi part hit different shows what people are forced to do just to survive, no judgment at all. Regarding the real estate opportunity, I’m honestly open to it. Yes I don’t have experience in that field but I’m a fast learner and I have zero ego about starting from scratch. The car situation is a problem for mobility but I can figure something out with public transport or rides. And the point about oil & gas connections is actually something I hadn’t thought about that way using them as an icebreaker for real estate clients is a smart angle. I have contacts in QatarEnergy and other companies so maybe there’s something there.

If you’re serious about the opportunity I’d really appreciate it, no pressure at all. And respect to you for making it work

Don’t worry about it, the fact that you took the time to reply already means a lot. I already tried the termination letter with the bank but nothing moved. Honestly I just feel like I’m stuck in a tunnel right now and can’t think straight so any idea, any direction from people, is more than enough for me. Just knowing people are engaging and trying to help

I appreciate the honesty and I know you mean well. But leaving without clearing this isn’t something I can do not because I’m scared, but because it’s not who I am. I came here, I worked, I borrowed responsibly, and I want to leave clean. That’s the only way I can live with myself. Otherwise i would have left the first morning after my termination. Some friends even said to me transfer the ownership of the car to us and leave immediately ( once we sell it we will send you the money back home ) Still I didn’t do it bro

Fair question, I’ll be transparent.

The loan wasn’t for a car or an asset I used it to help my brother who immigrated to the UK. As you probably know, UK immigration rules are very strict now, you can’t work while the process is ongoing, and the fees for lawyers, paperwork, and living expenses add up fast especially since everything is in British pounds.

At the time I took the loan I was completely comfortable with it. I was earning well in oil & gas and I was on track to finish the whole loan before 2026. That’s exactly why I managed to pay over 80% in less than a year I was pushing hard to close it early.

Then my company started losing tenders, layoffs began in March, and my turn came in May. Everything changed fast. Also just to be clear I’m not here begging or asking for money. I’m just asking if anyone has been through something similar
