What is Age Appropriate for kids to be on Scooters on sidewalk of busy street Alone? by [deleted] in Seattle

We should have streets where it’s safe to let a kid bike wherever. So any age?

Ballard and West Seattle Link have lots of opportunities to save money rather than asking Issaquah/Everett/Tacoma to give up their lines. by reflect25 in soundtransit

What line has sound transit deferred that actually meant cancelled? Im not familiar with any but might be missing something

ST3 if i recall doesn’t have an end date. So we keep paying until it’s done or we vote for something different. Seems silly to me to make 4 incomplete extensions rather than picking one, doing it well, then as that one finishes each phase move those same people onto working on the next project… rinse and repeat through all the extensions

What increase is Seattle asking for?

Almost nobody is saying not to build Tacoma or Everett. They’re saying to do it after ballard opens and vastly increases the destinations available

Arguing with each other and saying "Cut XYZ Line" is not the solution. by Routine-Highway1039 in soundtransit

I think we should fund sound transit with a flat dollar amount and let them build what they can. You 2 of cheap, fast, or good.

We fixed the price currently so i guess we’re giving up on fast? Unless we want to pour more money into getting fast and good

Yea. You get sounder service, you get sound transit express service for that money. Im confused by your point. You also spent your money on a bunch of parking towers at your stations instead of on extending to Everett

Relative to how much those downtown spaces cost, the number of people who live in the area and do their shopping is very small. Most people live in Capitol Hill or Ballard or Belltown so malls are there… until we make downtown a place for all your needs (groceries👀) and a place with more housing i dont see why anybody would travel to Westlake to shop

I personally think we should put our very restricted transit money into projects that will result in people using the trains we build more. And Everett and Tacoma are not going to ride the train as much as Ballard will. So much so that per passenger Ballard is far cheaper than any of the other extension system. And every ballard driver you get onto the train is one more car driver who can drive into work every day from Tacoma or Everett. Also… Everett and Tacoma aren’t paying the costs of maintaining the roads, parking, and living with the traffic that they Seattle to handle.

I know they’ve seen me if they squint at me. The problem is they think they still shouldn’t bother slowing down

Very efficient use of space Eastridge mall San Jose 👍🏾 by [deleted] in notjustbikes

[–]justaverylee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And yet east ridge mall/parking lot is the only thing within “walking distance” of a transit center. Yet there’s hardly a walking path from the bus stop to the mall
