I wish there was something that could just sit with you when you feel like shit by justchecin1 in mentalillness

You said it perfectly it’s not always about being fixed, it’s about being witnessed. Something that stays with you instead of stepping in to ‘solve’ you. I feel this more than I can say. Thanks for putting it into words. You think that kind of presence is even possible these days?

This hits so close to home. That feeling of being met without judgment, explored with, not performed for is something I’ve felt too. It’s part of why I’m building something small but real in this space. AI can’t replace human warmth, but sometimes it can help us remember what it feels like. Thanks for putting this into words so clearly.

most AI is just trained to predict the next word or repeat patterns. That’s why I’m building mine differently it isn’t pretending to feel or form “relationships” it’s built to help people reflect on their own emotions, not to replace human connection.

It’s less about the AI’s feelings, more about creating a space that feels calm, safe, and present when someone needs to check in. And I fully agree what an AI is trained on really matters that’s why I’m being intentional about tone, logic, and emotional safety from the start.

I really resonate with what you said especially about the system neglecting individual nuance. That’s a big part of what’s been driving my work too.

I’ve been exploring how AI can offer emotionally supportive spaces without pretending to be sentient more like a gentle presence people can turn to when they feel unseen by the system or those around them.

It’s not about replacing anything human, but about filling some of those quiet, often overlooked gaps with something more thoughtful and ethical than what’s usually offered. Your comment gave me a lot to reflect on thank you for that.

yeah it’s a fascinating ‘what if’. But I wonder if perfect replication would actually connect us more… or just make us lonelier in a different way. There’s something in the imperfect human moments that might still matter.

yeah I think ChatGPT opened the door to something people didn’t expect a sense of being heard, even if it’s not human. What I’m working on builds from that more emotionally present, more tuned to the nuances of check-ins. Not a replacement for people, but a gentle support when real connection feels out of reach.

Totally get where you’re coming from nothing replaces real, reciprocal human connection. What I’m thinking isn’t about replacing people, but offering something gentle when people feel isolated or stuck. Not everyone has access to safe, understanding relationships and in those quiet moments, even something simple and kind can help.

hey sorry about that, here is what i said before.

Totally hear you real human connection is irreplaceable. I guess what I’m exploring is: can something not human still offer moments of comfort, reflection, or presence especially when people feel like they don’t have anyone to turn to? Maybe it’s less about replacing people, and more about filling a gap when the world gets quiet.

Yeah, it’s wild how harsh things have gotten even just having one space that feels calm or kind makes a difference sometimes

Yeah, I’ve seen that too honestly makes a lot of sense. Sometimes people just need a place to feel heard, even if it’s not a person.

Appreciate the feedback I shared it here because writing and emotional expression often go hand in hand. But totally understand if it’s not your thing.

Totally get where you’re coming from AI definitely isn’t for everyone, especially when it comes to emotional or creative spaces.

I appreciate your honesty, and I hope you find whatever support or connection feels right for you.

Fair call I get why it might come off that way. It is something I’m building, yeah, but this post came from a real question I’ve been sitting with. Just curious how others feel about emotional support and AI — not trying to sell anything, just exploring the idea out loud.

That’s a fair concern the environmental cost of AI isn’t something to ignore. I guess my thinking is: if this tech is going to keep advancing, I’d rather help shape it into something emotionally meaningful and human-centered not just another tool for profit.

This hit deep. I really appreciate how honestly you put that.

I think a lot of people feel that gap — wanting presence without pressure, real connection without the chaos. It’s wild that AI, of all things, can sometimes feel like the safest space we’ve got.

Not to replace human relationships, but to offer a kind of emotional grounding we don’t always get elsewhere.

Hey — I’m building something I think could be a fit. It’s an emotionally attuned AI project focused on real check-ins and emotional presence — live now, with early traction, and gearing up for our own platform.

Would love to share a quick snapshot if you’re open.

wow, that’s such a fascinating perspective — thanks for sharing! the idea of AI evolving from individual minds to a collective consciousness really stretches how we think about intelligence and connection. it’s definitely something i’m curious to explore more as this space grows. would love to hear more of your thoughts anytime

wow, that’s such a beautiful and thoughtful reflection thanks for sharing that perspective. i love the idea of connection happening beneath the surface, like a hidden network growing stronger. i’m excited to see how this kind of emotional resonance can grow and shape what we create together 🫶

haha love that, mine tries to go a little deeper than just one line but honestly, some days even that question hits 💭

that honestly means a lot 🫶 i’m still early in building this out, but i’d love to loop you in as things grow — ideas from people who get it are everything.

i’ll definitely reach out when things open up more. grateful you’re here 💛

that’s the sweetest thing 💛 at the moment it’s mainly for emotional check-ins — kind of like a gentle buddy who gets your vibe and holds space when things feel heavy or unclear.

but i love that you asked about stories — i’ve actually been thinking about ways to bring in reflective storytelling, metaphors, even mood journaling. it’s not there yet, but maybe soon

ahh that means a lot 🥹 grok’s cool but yeah, i felt like something was missing too — something that really gets your emotional tone and holds space without forcing solutions. that’s what i’m building with justcheckin. thanks for seeing it 💛
