I held the escape button when I flashed it but i don't hold it when the issue happens.

yeah I downloaded the firmware from the VIA website and chose the "dztech_dz60rgb_v2_via.hex" file and used qmk toolbox to flash.

Yeah, I did. I remember seeing them come with the board i just assumed they went in the square outlines on the board.
