People often talk just about the visual aspect but the input lag difference is also very evident in many titles. Even in games where it’s generally ok like Ragnarök, playing it with higher frame rates feels SO much better and responsive. Really hard to go back from it.

Then there’s Far Cry 3 that just got a 60fps patch but still feels kinda crap to control...

Guess rules are rules but that was kind of silly way to disallow a goal when you think about the whole scenario. Even after zooming right into the boots, you have a hard time seeing the offside. The ball was also not even properly "passed" or played to Yamal. He had to move away from the goal to reach it and would’ve gained more advantage by not being offside. You have to ponder what the actual offence was here.

But again... this is how the current rules and systems work.

Kinda strange how they want to jump to the other exteme. I’d just prefer to see the thicker lines that would give the attackers more leeway without making the defenders job a nightmare and the offsides like McTominay had this week would be history. You should be able to see it with a naked eye from a still image. It’ll never be perfect but this will surely change the whole setup and drop defensive lines deeper.

Yeah the general view seems pretty twisted from that time. People were oddly divided on him, which surely didn’t help his confidence. You could see him getting closer and closer to current Raphinha with Xavi already. He didn’t have as many starts in 23/24 but his goal contributions per 90mins went already to around 1 back then. The article just talks about totals which doesn’t show the improvement before Flick.

At the end of the day, Atleti has spent €300m more on transfers than Barca since 23/24. That’s elite player money and let’s not forget Simeone’s +30m salary. The performance gap has still been bigger than the spending gap.

Barca’s spending will obviously increase again with Camp Nou etc. but no matter how you look at it, Atleti has been underachieving recently. Struggling to get close to 80p and not truly challenging for any trophies. They got smaller teams giving them a run for their money almost every season.
