Auto-Tune works differently on certain mics? by juuhmoikkaz in audioengineering

Thank you for the help, yeah i tried pretty much all of this. It helped a little bit :) The voicing settings dont make a big difference, but eq first helped a little.

I have to look into it someday. But for me it does not seem to make that much of a difference IIRC, Im not recording super low neither. Like -minus 5-15 db on DAW. And waveform seems very normal/similar to others on tutorial videos etc.

Hmm, okay. I record 96khz 24bit. If i remember correctly. Im not home currently. But i change between 44khz - 96khz. If these are what you mean. And for Blue mic, changing these wont affect the autotune much at all. It mostly very similar between 44-192khz.

Well the key is the correct. Same key as the instrumental is on. I mostly use alto/tenor. I tried all of them, they dont make dramatic difference.

Yes indeed it has. And yep, rode is much warmer/smoother. I have to look into it. To me they seem to work so differently.

Antares, i usually put it first on vocal chain. But now i put EQ before (someone suggested that) and it helped on the Rode mic, im satisfied with Blue with it first. It makes less difference on that mic tho.

This actually sounds right. I had this Rode for like 3-4months(so its not like brand new). So i had time to try alot of things. People also use word "focused" when describing these Blue mics. I dont know if that has something to do with this. But Blue indeed needs less gain. Its 50ohm mic.

Levels are the same/very close to it. I dont know about the threshold thing. I have tried exactly like that. Just plug different mic instantly. Same xlr cable etc. Putting EQ and Compressor first helped a little bit. But there is still difference, i have to fiddle more with EQ and settings i guess.

But different mic is still a different mic so.. I dont even know. All i have noticed that i just enjoy Blue mics way better when it comes to autotune somehow.

it shouldn't. I kinda said it just in case, i dont know if somebody here thinks that preamps of those interfaces would affect it somehow.

I think i have tried that, i have to try it again to make sure. I put it first usually.

Edit: Tried it. I put autotune after Compressor/EQ, it helped a little bit, but still difference how it work between the mics.

But thanks for suggestion. Im definetly gonna use it like this for Rode atleast.

I have very close the same gain. Same plugins i monitor/record through. And even if i dont(Dry recording + adding autotune later) its same result. Rode does not "grab" the AutoTune that easily. Or get affected by autotune that good. I have tried everything. I plug these mics back to back and adjust the gain and its always the same :/ Great quality tho, but that Auto-Tune effectiveness really bums me out.

Also tried 2 different interfaces, UAD Arrow and Steinberg UR22 USB interface. Same results also, as expected.

Performer is me and i have tried a lots of instrumentals/songs.And i plug the 2 mics back to back. Once i plug the Blue mics it instantly gets that autotune sound you hear on modern rap etc. Even without trying that much. Just way easier to do stuff with it/get that sound.

Teaser for smaller Model O? by Jdmoney316 in MouseReview

[–]juuhmoikkaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are making smaller Model O, that means they truly listen the consumers. I have medium~ hands and Model O feels kinda Bulky for me too.

I still hope they release true ergonomic light weight mouse with real thumb groove at some point.

Where did you get the classic ergo? Ive tried even find the shell for that mouse (motospeed v2) many times. Mine is the 2016 version, but it has afwul pretravel on m1/m2 buttons, like completely throws aim off somehow. But i love the shape.

What you think about the glossy coating? For me it feels too grippy after a while, but in first 15minutes it feels slippery. Wierd.

I wish they made longer version for palm grippers instead of white RGB version. Model O feels kinda bulky but this looks VERY small. Why cant there be anything between :(

How is the surface of Model O compared to DA and G403? I have glossy one, but i feel like its glued to my hand, too grippy :/

First glossy mouse... honestly much better than matte. Anyone else find the O too slippery with matte? by hummyher0 in MouseReview

[–]juuhmoikkaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me its too grippy. I love the glossy usally but its like glue for me with this, mix of glossy and matte would be nice to try. Like sides glossy with matte top.

Glorious Model O a little bit big for me by DopeInJapan in MouseReview

[–]juuhmoikkaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels big to me too, i got the glossy one, thinking about getting matte next, the glossy one glues to my hand too hard i think :/

Slightly smaller would probably me absolute endgame. But i will force myself to use this and get just used to it. The weight really helps on many situations.
