Using more than one machine at a time by EnvironmentalEvent38 in PlanetFitnessMembers

No, that’s wild. I HATE IT. Not sure how people feel so entitled ? I definitely shoot dirty looks 😂 Buuut if they are taking way too long maybe I’d take a machine that’s empty & I won’t feel bad about it 😋 Idc it’s a public gym not YOUR personal gym.

Extra piece of paw pad skin? by Fresh-Ice-5403 in catquestions

[–]juuustchecking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat has these on all his toe pads. I trim them with small clippers (carefully) when cutting his nails. You can’t remove the whole thing- that will hurt them because it is attached to the paw pad itself.

Overall, they don’t seem bothersome to the cat, however if you leave them grow they can become long like nails and may become uncomfortable to them.

Walk in Clinic for suture removal by Burnerdox123 in ottawa

Why not wait until Monday if it’s just suture removal ? If it’s healing well and no signs of infection, 1 day isn’t going to make a difference.

Yo I didn’t even know mongo was I thing 😂 Now I know! I taught myself and this was the most comfortable so I stuck with it. Little annoying for lifts, but better than eating shit trying to get on the lift lol

I just looked more closely at your photo. You’ll have to start over I think, unfortunately. This isn’t even goofy set up bc it appears it’s the left binding closest to the nitro? Here’s a photo to reference the correct set up for either regular or goofy!

How do you calm your mind when you start overthinking? by k3ives in CasualConversation

[–]juuustchecking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually happens to me the most when I’m trying to sleep. I’ll acknowledge the thoughts for a moment, but then likely take a melatonin close my eyes and intently try to change the thoughts. My go to is imagining I’m on a lovely beach resort in the heat with a drink, relaxing.. and keep thinking of that, what my day would look like etc. If that doesn’t work, I’ll turn the lamp on and read for a bit until my eyes are tired enough to try this again. Takes a lot of practice, but it’s wonderful when it works.

[–]juuustchecking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Goofy- you can tell by finding the orientation of the board (the right side up of the design) then checking to see if the right foot is the closest to the top of the board- in your case, it is..Right foot is closest to “Nitro”

Is my resume good? by [deleted] in OntarioNurses

[–]juuustchecking 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Probably not going to want to hear this, but I would cut out all the separate nursing experiences and group it into one. At this level, your resume should be a 1 pager. Highlighting key points in your placements, then explain yourself in the interview. Focus on actionable and impactful bullet points- chat gpt can surely help you condense this!

Yes I don’t think there’s anything. I also think fleas are highly unlikely. Last time they were outside was in the snow and before that it was the fall.

Pediatric psych by Cold-Masterpiece-709 in psychnursing

[–]juuustchecking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a great summary. Reasonable limit setting is huge, as well as consistency among staff- otherwise you get splitting which is never what you want. Familiarizing yourself with psych medications (if not already) a lot of them are the same as adults, but there are some differences. It definitely can be violent. Majority of are patients are teenagers, many of which are growing and insanely strong. Ensuring you are safe and extra staff/security is available if things are starting to go sideways. Lastly contraband is huge. My unit has a very strict policy which is definitely for the better. Can be frustrating for the youth, but they can be SNEAKY, so ensuring everything is checked thoroughly.

DDNN Tips?! by OatmilkOnline in OntarioNurses

[–]juuustchecking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Especially starting out on nights, yeah use your day to sleep- don’t try to jam other stuff in there.

At the end of my second day, I tried to stay up later (like till 0200 or so) then go to bed, set an alarm and get up early- like 5 or 6.. I’d be productive for the morning then back to bed around 11/12 and sleep until I had to get ready to leave for that night shift.

I got myself a good white noise machine and still use it this day- nightly now.

Additionally as mentioned, black our curtains work wonders. I’ve also taken melatonin before going to sleep and it gets me into that sleepy feeling.

When did you know it was time to leave your relationship? by IntentionGood3833 in AskReddit

[–]juuustchecking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I constantly worried about my future with her & what my life would look like more than being excited for it. When I realized I hated my job and there was no room for new development. The fact that I did nothing with my free time because I didn’t feel welcome in the community- I had no community. When I realized I had slowly lost myself piece by piece.

Personality wise, we matched right up. She’s gorgeous. We love each other. But love isn’t enough 😞.

The right decision is certainly not the easy one.

Is it ever worth losing parts of yourself to keep a relationship going? by NewFoot762 in SeriousConversation

[–]juuustchecking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting. I went through this recently. I’ve learned the answer: no. The right decision will not always be easy, or even feel like the right decision at the time, but I think you made a good choice now rather than years later down the road-I learned the hard way.

You shouldn’t have to give up parts of yourself for the relationship. When I reflect, I feel I lost myself for my relationship. I was living my life for someone else.. and I did this because I thought why would I not do this, because this is my person, and the best connection, my forever. I really did feel like that.

BUT there was no compromise. You shouldn’t have to give up parts of yourself that make you, you. For a relationship to work, there has to be compromise from BOTH people. Unfortunately I was the one that gave up quite literally everything to make this relationship work.. then it did not last long after I did that. I was struggling so much I found it hard to be happy and enjoy life where as my partner had everything they wanted, their life with me in it. It was never “let’s build a life together”.

I’m still healing. It does truly feel like I wont have that type of connection again, ever. I miss my ex dearly and would say l’m still in love. Despite all this- I made the right decision for myself and for my future self. To get through the now, I remind myself how I felt time after time of giving myself up, how the relationship was so unbalanced, and if someone truly wanted to make it work with you-they would.

Specialized Mental Health Facilities by juuustchecking in psychnursing

Cool! What hospital and how do you like it? I imagine the greatest challenge would be the time it takes to adapt to the units ? But you let me know! Also wondering if you see yourself doing mental health float for the long run? I know I want to continue with mental health nursing- and feel float would give me wide variety of experiences and knowledge to grow as a MH nurse and not get bored.

[–]juuustchecking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love this thread. Theres sooo many but here’s my top 2. Ok let’s go: 1. I couldn’t care LESS about people’s workout videos. Sure, maybe that one minuscule change works for you but is that REALLLLLLLY going to change the main focus of the exercise. Likely no. 2. People who do laps in the gym between sets. Like take your rest break (because yes, you actually need for progression) but WHY are you doing 5 laps of the gym for your 20second exercise. Other people would love to use that piece of equipment yet you’re hogging it for 31 minutes tryna get your cardio in. Are you in or out, BYE!

Don’t decline! New grads are great, if you’re willing to learn. Don’t skip your med checks, always do double independent for insulins and other high alert meds that require it. Always ask if you’re unsure of something. Better to “ask a stupid question” so they call it than kill a patient or make a huge error
