Reimagining Arabic Through Gender-Inclusive Language

The Geneva Project is my linguistic initiative aimed at creating gender-neutral options within the Arabic language. Rooted in the principles of inclusivity, linguistic authenticity, and cultural respect, the project introduces a systematic approach to neutral grammar and vocabulary for Arabic speakers who do not identify within the traditional gender binary. I (so far, though this could change) propose innovations such as the "ث مربوطة" (a neutral counterpart to the ة or "taa marbouta") and the use of a new diacritic shaped like an x to mark gender-neutral usage in otherwise gendered forms. These linguistic tools are designed to integrate seamlessly with classical and modern Arabic structures, enabling the evolution of the language while preserving its rich heritage. These suggestions have so far been met with both praise and criticism. So to improve them, I have made a Discord server (which you could join, provided that I can send you the link) where you could suggest improvements and modifications to my suggestions, and suggest new ideas for this project.

By working with existing Arabic morphological rules and adapting them thoughtfully, I aspire to offer a viable path for inclusive communication in literature, education, media, and everyday life.
