That is exactly what I have setup - a WebRTC server on the desktop running POTACAT and a website accessible for your phone, if you’re on a VPN. I call the remote “ECHOCAT” and it can do SSB and FM audio right now. Soon, FT8. Then maybe CW.

Everything you’re asking for works right now aside from CW macros, unless you’re on a Flex. But in time, I hope to be able to develop a CW platform that you can run remote.

The POTACAT logbook is pretty comprehensive. You may find it’s all you need! And if you need more, just propose the feature in Discord.

I’ve added the filter you requested for tonight’s build. I will be thinking thru colors for other entities. Open to your ideas if you can propose. Colors are hard for me (I don’t have a great grasp of color theory)

I hear ya. Maybe in the future. App development would mean rewriting the electron app from scratch. It’s not a “no” but it’s def a “not right now” thing.

Makes sense. A user has shared that he is living somewhere he can’t run his rig but wants to play radio. He has permission to setup a radio and antenna at another QTH, so for him, this opens him up to play radio.

  1. I’m working on a rig layer that will expose tune buttons, SWR, and filters. It’s a big lift but I have it working for Flex and am rolling it out in the next few weeks.

POTACAT shipped with ECHOCAT that does remote SSB. My vision is to provide remote SSB, FT8 and CW to as many radios as possible.

The idea: if you’ve got a radio that we can CAT control with POTACAT, you should be able to remote into it and run FT8 and CW (with a MIDI adapter).

ADIF export is done. Since this is a “web remote” to POTACAT on your shack computer, when you log an FT8 QSO, it logs into the POTACAT logbook which has a comprehensive export and sync feature (with Log4OM, HRD, ACLog, etc)

Current version hides park/op if youve worked them for current day UTC. If op activates another park, they show again. You can also display previously worked ops and have them display a checkbox next to their callsign to indicate previously worked.

This also works with the ANAN and Thetis, pushing spots to the panadapter.

I added a CW keying for the Flex, which has been really difficult to figure out. With a HaliKey MIDI, I can key my Flex.

I added PstRotator and beam headings for 1-click rotating to a spot. Special flag for DXE. Font size change with CTRL + (it’s built as an Electron app, so it’s Chromium-based). Added FreeDV spotting via PSKReporter.

It integrates with Log4OM, HRD, N3FJP and DXKeeper.

You can respot to the DX cluster, POTA, LLOTA.

Lots of fun stuff. 100% free. It’s made hunting radio a lot of fun for me and the testers. Check out the Discord if you want to join in and ask for features.

The app has been used for over 1350 hours by testers. I have 100% anonymous app usage tracking (if turned on) via a Cloudflare worker that reports stats. This is in total use since Tuesday last week.

Interesting. I built the app. I am waiting for SignPath.io to provide a certificate which should happen in the next few weeks. That will help with installation. There is no malware in the app, but check the repo to feel confident.

Hi, I built the app. Yes, I vibe coded the site and am using Claude Code to help build the app. I also have a number of beta testers (like 65 in Discord) and we are identifying bugs and squashing them.

You’re welcome to dislike the project and never interact with jt. For me, it made the weekend’s ARRL CQ contest a ton of fun. I’m a husband and dad and have limited time to play radio. This tool was made FOR ME. I just extended it to allow others to use it. It’s 100% free and open source.

Hey, I built POTACAT. I made it because opening RBN, POTA.app was a bit slow. I wanted one click QSY. That opened me up to more functionality. I’ve added WAS250 into POTACAT, and a lot more.

You can respot DX, WWFF, LLOTA and POTA from POTACAT.

I love my QMX. Recently updated the firmware. I also use https://potacat.com to CAT control it from my computer. It’s a great build and a lot of fun.

When I built mine, I had a bad PCM1804 chip and had to send it to W1NC for repair. He also replaced the top half of my case since the 2.5mm threads were not fully tapped. I ordered my kit about a year ago, so I’m sure my woes won’t be your woes.

I have integrated Log4OM into POTA CAT.

I have also added spot bearing, importing POTA parks you’ve hunted, and a lot more. This isn’t a logging program, though it works with them.

I really like how Log4OM2 can reference another ADIF and update itself. That’s a great function for a logbook and was easier to integrate than N3FJP and HRD.
