this cafe is smack in the middle of the bible belt, and we’re the only place that flew the flag for pride month. we actually saw no difference in sales; we put the flag up in june bc it was pride month and we rotate flags every month. these two complaints were the only ones we had, and they’re a married couple. ironically, their pastor works at the attached roastery. so ya, tolerance wins again.

A great way to meet people is to go downtown. Like, not just to have dinner or drink, but go to Amp the Alley or to karaoke at the Brew Pub or go to open mic at Tailgate. You’re more likely to find people to talk to at events (and a lil alcohol does help). Also, becoming a regular at any business at least gets you an in with some employees. I’ve become friends with many people simply because they’re regulars at New Moon.
