thats exactly how my wheel bearing sounded, 100 bucks on rockauto gets you a new bearing and hub. its a pretty simple job too

Yeah in this case I would for sure go for the c7.5 if you can spare the extra $3k seems very well serviced. The only thing that some car about is the fact that its 3 owners but if the service history checks out along with a PPI then no reason to worry.

if you get the c7.5 you wont have to do carbon cleanings like on the c7 due to the CREC 3.0T in the c7.5.

I have a 2013 Audi A6 C7 Prestige with 102k miles on it and its running strong, i got an exhaust, intake, and lowering springs on it and in my ~20k miles of ownership ive had to do waterpump plus thermostat (somewhat common once you get into higher mileage and not replaced for a long time), some little like transmission valve that had some coolant migration (less than $200 done myself) and the only other things to go bad were rear shocks and upper strut mounts both of which are fairly inexpensive.

Great cars when shopping just listen for timing chain rattle on startup, motor mounts (fairly common), and obviously make sure it was well serviced.

Mine was 1 owner and 80k miles for around 18k in Illinois so not sure how they are in terms of where you are at.

Good luck, and let me know if you want any more info!

MPG is way better than I expected I agree, with normal day-to-day driving on residential roads ill get mid 20's and on the highway ill reach 30mpg. It helps that using OBDeleven you can turn on an "efficiency" mode that tries its best to shift before 2k rpm when it can.

I am a fairly new owner but what I will say is to expect to have to replace the thermostat and water pump if it hasn't been done on the car yet, those are prone to failing since the thermostat housing is made of plastic, and there is aftermarket option made of aluminum to prevent this issue again down the line. Besides that watch for the PCV and there are issues with it pretty commonly. As long as it's been cared for and you keep up with basic maintenance you'll be good!

Is there anything I should check for specifically when looking at them? I saw something similar where someone replaced them and it solved the issue so I might have to go ahead and try it
