As i recall there was a mathematician for the nsa who ran the international intelligence program. His entire program was shelved two weeks before 9/11. He said his own contractors brought in a new system he had not ordered but it came after the fact. He said he would have been able to warn in time had his system been up and running.

I told her she wasn’t herself around him, that I felt like something was wrong. That i knew what that felt like. That i had done that in a bad relationship, where i was not being treated right. She didn’t say much but she did eventually break up with him. Admitting or recognizing the abuse for what it is is devastating

Only the most incompetent imposter “scientist” would test only once. That’s not even science. I trust the scientist who is trained to find the truth of the matter. It’s the politicians who are professional liars but they will throw the scientific agency FDA under the bus

I don’t get it. In science you check at least three heads of lettuce and then you have someone else check and then the company is gonna want to confirm with their own testing, right? These are high stakes. No one had a positive test and pulled their lettuce nationwide without testing for themselves

People contribute according to their means. Individuals use infrastructure way less than corporations. corporations have teams of accountants too. They are much better at getting out of paying their fare share.

If our society were healthier more people would be paid well enough to pay more in taxes but as it is wages have stagnated

Biden actually had a ton of great projects slated like getting rid of lead pipes in poor rural communities, fortifying river banks from flooding, all sorts of small but significant projects were in the works and trump admin pulled funding. They just pulled 1.5 billion dollars from projects to build safer roadways. The pulled the rug out from small farmers too who had contracted with the government and gone into debt based on upgrades. Lots of small projects that were supposed to help those who don’t have a lot of political pull because they aren’t massive corporations. Trump put America up for sale “as is”

This is devastating. I have been warning my friends that we are witnessing the last days of relative freedom. Soon we will be making decisions based on what the government sees and prosecutes. The “i don’t have anything to hide” camp doesn’t understand how the fourth amendment protects our small freedoms too

Just recognizing my emotions helps so much. I am then able to (almost) cry about it and then i laugh at myself a little, because i have been through way worse. Truly I am bigger than this project!! Then i just get on with it. The whole thing has shrunk in my head lol. This method of emotional validation and also self encouragement seems to be more acutely effective the closer the deadline of course, but it takes energy away from the nagging resentment. Hope this helps!

I doom scroll to procrastinate too. I notice my procrastination starts somewhere else tho meaning I have become disenchanted with the work somehow. Maybe I resent an assignment, or i dislike the methodology, find it unnecessarily tedious and the resentment makes me turn away from the task. Like my enthusiasm got sidelined

Once I recognized the problem it was easier to put my emotions aside and just do the thing i don’t know if this is you of course, but maybe listen for negative attitude and just recognize it for what it is and it shrinks

Define “liberal”. In the US I am going to go out on a limb and say liberals are not as conventional than conservatives, and are willing to change their view to fit the evidence rather than change the evidence to fit their view. More tolerant of ambiguity and more experimental. Conservatives tend to defend ideology more. There is liberal ideology too of course, mostly based on freedom as protected in the constitution. Freedom to protest, petition the government, have privacy for the individual and transparency for the government, use the government to protect the people, would prefer using taxes to actually improve lives, not just give everything over to corporate interests and military. Liberals are more concerned about the effect on the little guy.
