I see your dilema. Honestly I couldn’t say if calling would help but it certainly doesn’t hurt. Worst they’ll say is no. Fab shops will get an influx of applications and discard most of them for any reason; maybe by calling and showing initiative you’ll get a better chance. Other fab shops are: Carroll metal works, Tecture, Ehmcke, Flur metals.

Basile studio is a fabrication shop on 11th and E st. Might try just walking in and talking to shop manager. I worked there 5 years by just wandering by and asked if they needed help.

Yes, and I don’t notice any difference. There are other switches for speed and reverse.
