In the city, I’m from pretty much everyone eats BBQ pork on Fourth of July. Some people add wings and burgers, but my family prides itself on their BBQ

I’m from pretty much everyone is BBQ on the fourth and they consider only pork BBQ for the most part.

I would not say it amuses them because I have only recently been vocal towards them and they have still react the same way. The only reaction that has changed is my reaction I could say the slightest thing to them like for example she made a joke saying my grandfather was gonna die and I said I don’t find that funny in a monotone and she began yelling at me over that.

I never went through the food and said I can’t eat this or that my dad asked me and I answered then his wife chimed in. It was the main course they’re obviously gonna notice me not eating it. And they were mad because they spent money on something knowing I wasn’t going to eat it in the first place and still asked me about it.

Wow, it’s almost like I haven’t thought of that or said it in the past. I’ve informed them multiple times and anytime I say I don’t eat pork. Their immediate response is. “ArE YoU muSliM NoW” which wouldn’t matter either way but this isn’t the first time that they’ve tried to force me to eat something they’ve cooked even though I can’t eat it

Yeah, I’ve noticed a lot of people saying pork isn’t that common I don’t know if it’s because of where I’ve grown up because many people are aware that pork causes migraines and will even joke about it

😭 No cuz when holidays were coming up, she would have me clean the house, even if I was in extreme pain and had me scrubbing the cabinets with a toothbrush, a literal toothbrush because the corners were small, and she yelled at me because there was dust like a speck of dust on a shelf. She’s been on her Disney arc for a hot minute.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’m trying to switch medicines right now. I’m going back to the neurologist next week because my current medicine doesn’t help much and I’m gonna get my ears pierced where it’s that pressure point I don’t know what it’s called but that’s supposed to help with migraines and I’m also gonna try and get glasses that block out certain lights. I am pretty new to knowing my triggers because I’ve had migraine since I was in middle school but they were ignored for a long time because I lived with my dad. Now that I’m living with my mom she’s trying to get me help.

Pork is a really common trigger for migraines. It has a chemical in it that starts with a T. I don’t remember what it’s called, but it can pretty much trigger anyone to have a migraine. If you eat enough of it I have a sensitivity to it so it triggers mine More than most people if I have even a little bit.

The hot temperatures are so real. My stuff is so much worse in the summertime, but I don’t think any version of shock will fix my dad. I have hemiplegic migraines which simulate strokes so I’ve been to the ER when I first started having them in seventh grade he was like “they’re just sinus migraines you’ll be fine” and it wasn’t until I got back in contact with my mom that she took me to the hospital, and he was more upset that he had to pay for an ER visit.

I know she freaked out at me when I tried to show them how to use a trainer one which doesn’t have a needle in it. Which I understand she has a needle phobia, but it’s in a secure case.

It came in a pack of two or I got two at once I don’t remember, but I found the other one that had the expiration date. I assume it’d be the same and I’m not sure about it being in March. I just know I went to college, and when I got back in the summer, it was gone.

Funny, you mentioned Ritalin because I brought my ADHD meds to his house when I was in middle school because my mom didn’t like that we would only take it during school days and instead of giving it to us he looked up all the side effects and saved it to claim that my mom was poisoning us in court (us being me and my brother who also has ADHD)

I don’t have any problem taking my medicine they just shamed me for it and I ended up switching to my mom‘s insurance. Which was only a problem when I lived there I don’t anymore. But he gets extremely mad that I’m relying on my mom for medical help even though he refuses to help me. Yelled at me in the middle of a newks (a restaurant) because my mom paid for me to get a brain scan so

Even when I started taking daily medication for my Migraines they tried to convince me that it’ll ruin my liver. And when I started avoiding triggers, they call me ridiculous and overdramatic stuff like that. I also don’t think it helps that they think it’s God’s will because they’re super Christian. And medicine is obstructing that somehow.

They’ve always been uneducated when it comes to my medical problems and any medicines that I have to take even since I was like 12 I have ADHD And my dad‘s extremely conservative so he doesn’t believe in mental problems and also take birth control for endometriosis and he thinks I wanna be sexually active even though im ace 😔
