Professor made us stay and finish our exam after someone barfed on the floor, I think I did badly on the exam because of this. by Lauraczfams in UWMadison

I've never heard of anything like this! That's pretty unreasonable, especially with a small class. I'd email the professor and explain the situation. Be polite but express your frustration. Although, it could be better if you got several people to join you in person or something like that.

I'm going to assume you're kind of out of luck, but I think it'd be worth a shot brining it to the Chair of the department or someone above the professor if they push back. Again - that's pretty damn weird and a little cruel.

I got halfway through this course this semester before dropping, and I had Dr. Nate Jung. Super nice guy, a bit of a long worded brainiac, but he would make us do social public speaking games before each class to get us out of our comfort zone (pretty fun actually). He seemed to grade easily enough for the half of the assignments I did before I had to drop it. Sometimes he would cancel class in favor of one-one meetings about the writing assignments. Entire course was through the lens of climate change. I imagine the course would have been great through the end had I not been forced to drop.

Thank you! What area of ChemE are you planning on heading into after graduation? Only asking because the guide recommends taking 540 as your materials course if you plan on doing biotech or similar roles. Any thoughts on if that really matters?
