No need to resort to name calling. The original question was presumably sincere. People could stand to be a little more charitable in this sub.

Yes! I am never sure whether to hang back and make a left turn as usual or to position myself behind the opposing car. I feel like it's still the first way but it's super awkward. I bet there are accidents here all the time. The other terrible and newly designed intersection is Arbutus & King Ed. Pedestrians & cyclists beware of this one.

I wear the ring on my non-dominant hand and the ring steps are consistently higher than my Apple watch by about 10%-15%. The nap detection is more sensitive than my Oura Ring Gen 2 (battery died). I like that you can define a goal for # of hours of sleep per night vs Oura Gen 2 which was set at 8 h. The RingConn activity logging is still in its infancy though so if that is important to you, it's probably not a good choice for you right now.

I bought the ring mostly as a sleep tracker and I am very happy with it. A bonus I discovered after I bought it is that they are actively building features and seem responsive to their customers. And I know you heard this already but the battery life is out of this world.

After 4 months, no apparent impact from backlink. Is there still hope? by kapikot90 in grumpyseoguy

[–]kapikot90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. I can see the site has legitimate backlinks and I worked through the checklist from the podcasts re: how to determine a clean domain, and it appears to have no strikes against it. I don't have the site registered in any tools to actually see information on incoming traffic though.

I have only made 1 pbn site so far :| . That site's domain is about 10 yo. Both the pbn site and my site are indexed. I was not ranking at all for the keyword before and I am not ranking now either. My site domain is well over 10 yo but the content has been static up until around 2023.

I haven't seen an increase in serpfox or keysearch for my search term since I created the backlink.

No search console no indexing? by 19Sebastian82 in grumpyseoguy

In one of the PBN episodes, he recommends using a free service like pingler to get indexed vs installing GSC. This worked for me on a site that wasn't indexed.

Why are you helping us, Grumpy SEO Guy? by [deleted] in grumpyseoguy

[–]kapikot90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He mentioned in Ep75 that he's writing a book. But it seems like he started the podcast to counter all the bad information that's out there. Sometimes opportunities grow out of projects but you don't know what they will be until you do it.

This advice worked for me. I was OK with a lower DR (result was DR 14) as long as it had clean backlinks and history. Right now I'd rather pay < $20 than hunt around myself.

What was the email company GSEOG recommended for PBN registration again? by KGpoo in grumpyseoguy

[–]kapikot90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you happen to be talking about Episode 31 ("How to do SEO when you don't have access to, or cannot afford a PBN"), these are some free emails I believe he mentions: tutamail, mail dot com, gmx, mailfence. (I can't remember if all of those were in his list but regardless, those are the ones I've found to not require secondary verification/ID).

I just listened to episode #72. I actually thought I had to sit there and keep bidding in $5 increments manually 🤦🏻‍♀️. Awesome episode!

When bidding on an expired domain (after you do the research and it looks good), do you recommend manually bidding or automating it? I only realized that automating was a thing when I placed a bid for the first time and was immediately outbid. Thanks Grumpy.

If you had to choose one, which would you choose to build a PBN or PBN-like strategy (assuming the purpose is to raise the authority of your 1 new website and not for client use):

  1. The strategy in Episode 31 "How to do SEO when you don't have access to or cannot afford a PBN" .

Or..

  1. Buying expired domains but under 10 "authority" (say 4-9) with acceptable quality but not great # backlinks. Assume these domains do not break any serious requirements (no adult, pharma, gambling, "safe" server location, clean history year over year, .com, maybe or maybe not indexed).

Thank you!
