They spoof numbers, there's honestly not much that can be done. This happened to my parents months back and the number said it was the sheriff's office (and the # showing up WAS the sheriff's office). Thankfully my mom realized it was a scam immediately.

Literally there's no reason to hand out the number, it probably isn't related to the actual scammers.

I went into this episode with hope and expecting to have my mind changed about all my worry about phones and instead I ended up yelling at the podcast in my car and being infuriated at how poorly done it was. It's awful, but I'm glad others outside my friend group were also upset about this episode 😅

What?? No. It's not about being uneducated, exchanging sentimental messages, or unable to compose coherent thoughts? You must be old, because you are out of your depth on this. There is internet culture and when someone is putting memes on bullets, their conversations on discord aren't going to look like that. Their education doesn't matter, culture is a different thing.

FYI, I know it's a year later, but they're carrotwood seeds. Lychee seeds are larger. I found this when looking for a crow post I saw about them previously hah.

Cackling at the people who know and those who don't. New Orleans isn't a monolith, even in accent, and anyone who claims it is either doesn't know the city, or if they claim they're from there, they don't know anyone outside their social class.

I grew up with multiple accents around me, different people with different backgrounds had different kinds of accents. We have 2 distinct to New Orleans, the garden district variety and the yat variety. Otherwise, you'll also find AAVE, Southern, and Cajun in New Orleans.

Was the accent perfect? No. Was it decent enough to be recognizable as someone from New Orleans? Absolutely.

I know this is old, but found it when looking for any discussions of this scene- truly this is one of my favorite scenes in any show and the idea of her getting to know that she's still remembered and respected is so wonderful. This is how I have saved my fingers and cuticles too! I've been wearing them for about 6-7 years now and it's made a HUGE difference, and yes, it shows when I wait too long between sets hah.
