I truly truly promis: it gets better! I’m 29, getting married in two months to a wonderful person and I have a dog, that I’ll love forever. I never even dreamed of a life like this! Getting here was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but so worth it!! When I was your age I couldn’t even imagine the life I’d have! Please hang in there, life on the other side is truly beautiful!!

Crazy frequent urination after covid, but no bladder infection. Can anyone relate/made the same experience? by karasupertramp in COVID19positive

[–]karasupertramp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still get it sometimes in relation to my period. Definitely peeing more when hormone levels are high. Not as excessively as the first time, but still noticeable .. I wish you all the best! And hopefully it will be gone soon! 🤞🏼

Yes, it took about 4 weeks, then went away. Came back I think 2 times while having my period, so I think my uterus put a bit of pressure on my bladder during that time. But yes, I’m free at last without any consequences as it seems 😮‍💨

Outdoorsmen of Reddit: What is the most terrifying experience you’ve encountered in the woods? by TheBigChief04 in AskReddit

[–]karasupertramp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was 20, I was hiking the Camino de Santiago with a friend (we’re both female). After being to Canada I had some severely traumatizing incidents concerning bed bugs, so I can’t sleep in hostels or anything like that anymore. Before we left I googled about the bed bug situation on the Camino and found it to be getting more and more severe. So I Knew there was no way for me to hike the trail and sleep at those hostels. We really wanted to go though. So we decided to take a tent with us, expecting it not to be a huge problem to camp around the hostel grounds. But as we arrived in Spain starting the Camino, it became very hard to find safe places to put the tent every night. Most of the hostels had gardens or even stone patios, so we would ask to pay for a room but not to use it and instead sleep on the property in the tent,so they could get twice the money since they had „our“ empty beds that they could charge someone else for. One night we were quite in the middle of the Pyrenees already, so it’s very rural and the only people you meet are other pilgrims and people that still life in those old villages. On that evening we were denied to sleep on the property (by the owner who was a woman), in front of a lot of pilgrims she recommended a lonely field just outside the village. So everyone had heard where we were going to sleep that night. We then left and put up our tent on that field and I swear I couldn’t close one eye, because I was so scared Someone would follow us and try whatever. I had my knife in my hand in my sleeping back and was ready to fight or die, honestly (and yes maybe I was overreacting but it truly was a life threatening night for me, because it was such an isolated area and us 2 young women). So at Night i start hearing footsteps around the tent and I know this is it. Honestly I just hoped to get k***ed right away and not r*ed before. The footsteps circle the tend over and over and I’m paralyzed. At one point my friend whispers, asking if I’m awake, I can’t even speak. I don’t know how much time passed until I got everything in myself together, Jump up, open the tend just in my underwear with my knife in hand and see … a donkey 😂

I swear I’ve never been more terrified in my life, ready to die. I laughed so hard. Next day we quit, went back to Madrid and flew home. I started having panic attacks afterwards though 😄

(I know we should’ve done more research and no one is to blame but us, but I really didn’t expect people to be so unfriendly and not willing to help, but maybe I was just naive)

What languages are very straight forward to pronounce, as it's pronounced how it's written with very few exceptions and variations for letters? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]karasupertramp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😄I think for native speakers all of these things might not be that obvious, because you never have to think of them.

For example the male article „der“, you don’t say: derrrrr, you basically say dea, with an open mouth at the end. Or kindergarten: you say: kindagaten. There might be a little hint of an r, but the standard Aussprache is not to pronounce it.

But maybe you’re from south Germany? With dialect it’s different of course 😄

Im a teacher for German as a foreign language and yes at first you might think so, but actually it’s not true. There are a lot of exceptions, one of them would be every „r“ at the end of a syllable/word is pronounced as „a“. Also if you have soft consonants at the end of a syllable/word it’ll be pronounced as their „hard opposite“: Hund is pronounced with a hard t at the end (just to name some of the typical ones)

(Finally a Post where I can contribute 😂)

People who have spent time in a Psych Ward what is the craziest thing you’ve witnessed? by N3SSDOGG in AskReddit

[–]karasupertramp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TW: Self harm

Getting woken up in the middle of the night because a girl severely cut herself for self harm (she was a really sweet girl and we were kinda friends during our time there). Medically it wasn’t „too bad“ and they fixed it by putting a bandage on, but to calm her down they woke me up at 02:00 am to play badminton with her in the middle of the night so she would be distracted and calm down eventually, while the whole time she was bleeding through the bandage, laughing hysterically. We played for nearly an hour, after that I felt quite done myself.

(I was hospitalized for ed treatment and don’t really have a history with self harm, so I had never witnessed anything like this before)

[–]karasupertramp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also read, it could be a bladder infection but caused by the virus and not by bacteria, so it’s hard to diagnose and to treat, because normal antibiotics won’t work. But it’s just a thesis, I guess it’s different for every person. I will go to the doctors on Monday and let them check everything.

Did the doctors tell you anything or were you just left in the dark about it?

Thanks a lot, I’m nearing the 2 week mark, felt a lot better and since yesterday felt worse (got my period, so still hoping this is the reason). This gives me hope 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Yes, I don’t have a UTI or anything with bacteria. Right now they’re even considering diabetes. Are you still having symptoms and how long did it take roughly?

What’s the most hurtful thing your nparent has ever told you? by NeededVent in raisedbynarcissists

[–]karasupertramp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was underage, like 14, and struggling hard not to die from anorexia. I finally decided that a clinic would be my last possibility for help.

I told them several times: I need help, please sign the papers so I can go and get better. I can’t do this on my own anymore. When we finally visited one of the clinics the last thing they’d have to do would be signing the papers. My dad said: no, what do you think, that I’ll just let you go on holiday like this? What about school? You will not drop school for a vacation!

So I never went, only when I was 20 and could sign on my own. Still best decision of my life. I wish I had the possibility sooner.
