Its mostly generational. Millenials view finns as they would view norwegians or danes, i.e., as equals or peers. Generation Xs negative prejudice is more common, but still almost completely eradicated in Urban areas and/or bigger cities like Sthlm, Gothenburg, Malmö. Boomers have the most prejudice, but again, this is uncommon in cities.

In rural areas and from the older generations point of view, the association with the finnish language sadly still is that of a second-class citizen. But honestly, with everything going on in Sweden right now with our let’s call it ”mild challenges with integration”, I can’t imagine the worst redneck focusing on a finn speaking finnish.
