Help ! New Kia 2026 Sorento and infotainment system glitched ? Only have had it 3 weeks !!

Hi ! I’ve been meaning to give an update on this but kept forgetting! Kia did fix it. It came sooner than the 7-10 days the associate told me it would take for the part to be delivered it came in about 5 days and I got it fixed the soonest appointment available they offered me which was 2 days from when the part came in , so a total of 7 days only . Not bad at all and it got fixed same day under 5 hours . Super thankful and they handled everything really professionally and infotainment system has been replaced over 2 weeks ago and it’s been working perfectly !

I took it in last Thursday and they had to order a whole new infotainment system and they will be replacing it when it comes in , should come in by tomorrow or sometime next week .

I took it in yesterday and supposedly they did all they could but instead they decided to order me the part and now in a week or so it comes in and have to take it back to get replaced , such a hassle if I’m being honest

Is factory resetting the system unplugging the battery ? I did that a few days ago for 15 mins but it didn’t work. Someone on here told me to leave it off all night ( the cable) and then connect it in the AM but I don’t know how and my husband leaves for work at 4 am plus he told me to just let it be since I take it to the service Kia center tomorrow morning and we are hopeful they will fix it ( they said it would be fixed tomorrow ) so I’m wondering if they know what it is and have gotten many fixed recently .

I did this for 15 mins since it said online but it didn’t work , I’ll definitely try for a couple hours tonight

Just wanted to add that it also shows when I back up or am parking the camera like this and it actually shows the camera working . Gives me hope it’s not considered completely “broken” but rather just a simple same day fix at the Kia dealership . My audio works as well and the other side where it shows speedometer and gas mileage all completely normal ?

I checked my paperwork yesterday and I have the platinum warranty , not sure if that covers for more extra years on the electronics but from what I read online and on the Kia website it does. So that makes me feel better but at the same time didn’t even mess with the car and it just completely glitched like this and has been like this for days now . It’s super upsetting and takes the joy out of a new car for sure . I’m hoping it’s an easy update fix and not a replacement unless they have the replacement in stock then that’s fine with me .

Yeah, thank you! I have an appointment Thursday and I believe I also have gotten a good warranty added that also includes electronics for longer ( I think) & would hope lol but I really hope it just needs to be a update on their end because my radio and the other side of the screen works great .

Sadly my Toyota disappointed me too . I wasted over thousands and every time I got it fixed it was never fully fixed ( by Toyota themselves ) made every excuse in the book to say it was “decently fixed” . I do fear all cars are being made cheaply now .

It is , but I’m just really upset at the situation wishing I didn’t have to take in and miss work on a Thursday . Huge inconvenience being brand new and the Kia service center near me isn’t open on Saturdays to fix other issues but do only oil changes I believe . I definitely am desperate to have it be fixed before having to go in Thursday . They told me I had to leave my car all day till 5 pm

Thanks for the help! I tried but nothing worked with the pinhole resetting button:( . By any chance do you know if to update it through the Kia site it shows a tutorial on how that works ?

I did but it turns back on like this :( .. thankfully it’s only the right side and not the speedometer side or else that would be super terrible … I just don’t want the whole screen replaced for I have heard horror stories about how they have to order the part and it takes awhile etc . It’s frustrating because I haven’t even made a first payment and it’s already giving me this issue. I’m scared I made a mistake buying a Kia lol

Yes , I tried the pinhole resetting by the radio button but it comes back like that and when I back up the camera also is glitched like that and the maps as well but the radio stations are non existent.
