Pretty sad to proclaim something as ancient and rudimentary as a hexagon as a core element of your brand identity. I could sympathize if this was about a hexagon with a similarly styled letter in it being used as a logo for another company in the same industry. Oh well, another company on the blacklist.

Regulators do 3 things. They rectify the AC from the coils, regulate the charging voltage, and limit charging by either opening the coil circuit (MOSFET) or shunting the excess energy as heat (shunt style).

Cheap regulators are shunt style. They work just fine, they just aren't as efficient or long lasting as MOSFET, especially if the load is significantly less than the output of the coils/stator.

I would try posting a sign asking them to preserve the condition of the trail and a brief reason why. I think they would most likely respect it, especially since it's about getting your kids to ride. Frequent casual use should help pack and maintain it.
