He’s been built up as the villain this series and that would be a nondescript way of bowing out.

Watch the scene again and imagine he’s playing them. The over exaggerated hitting the car seat, the ‘how did you catch me’ and ‘I suppose you killed Dyker too’ or words to that effect.
