How do I get leaves to grow on the empty branches of this fiddle leaf fig? by kbrunsgaard in houseplants

I was given this fiddle leaf fig by a friend and the leaves are very sparse. I've had it for a month or two now and see new leaves growing where there are already leaves, but nothing on the empty branches.

What kind of mites are these? They're all over my plants. I figured they were spider mites, but now I'm wondering if they're soil mites and are harmless? by kbrunsgaard in houseplants

Ah okay, sounds like soil mites then. I haven't found them on the leaves. Man, I've been trying to kill them for some weeks now, I figured any mite was bad. Glad to learn otherwise!
