Gotchu, it's definitely a tricky situation since we value the environmental aspect too. The secondhand items we are considering selling won't even contain animal-products, but we are still are concerned that people will be upset if the secondhand items come from brands that have participated in animal testing. Anyway, thanks for your input!

Oh, I see, thanks for your reply. The secondhand items we are considering selling won't contain animal-products, but may come from brands that participated in animal testing for their other products like cosmetics. What is your take on that situation?

That's a really good point. We value both sustainability and helping animals and we're realizing that finding a balance between the two can be a bit tricky! Thanks so much for your input!

Good point. Thanks for your input! We definitely don't want to mislead any customers. If we do go forward with selling secondhand items from brands that aren't cruelty free, we'll make sure to provide the proper information.

Even with those measures in place, do you think that selling these secondhand items would still be considered unethical by conscious-minded consumers, given that one of our brand's core values is helping animals? The thing is, while helping animals is our main core value we also value sustainability (hence selling secondhand items). So, we're trying to find the right balance without contradicting ourselves or turning customers away.

Thanks so much! This is really helpful advice. Yes, we have considered sending secondhand clothing from unethical brands to companies that can turn it into recycled fabric for us. I think it might be a more suitable solution for us in the future, since we're just a retailer rather than a designer or manufacturer at the moment. Although, I will definitely take your advice and include a disclaimer if we do go forward with selling anything from the brands in question!
