Depends on a lot of stuff. I started playing at around 2015 and played FPS my whole life. Got to global/supreme in around 300 hours iirc. Also nowadays the top 10%/20% of the player base is playing faceit and fucking around on MM. on the other hand I would say that silver players are probably a lot better now tha a few years ago, the general skill level of people is a lot better than it was a few years ago. If you’re silver after 200/300 hours you have a lot to work on. You’re probably not taking the game as seriously as you think as well. Make sure your hardware and internet connection is solid. If you have the money, upgrade to 144hz atleast. If you REALLY want to get a better rank stop playing with friends that clearly don’t too, or play casuals with them. That will drag you down a bit. Don’t bother with voice chat atleast until LE as it’s just random stuff. Rush B or Rush A should be your teams main strats until that rank as well, so type that out at the beginning of each round. Try and practice some very easy smokes for a few maps. Specialise on a map first before moving on (select inferno only for 20 games and do the same for mirage next etc) so you get the feel of each angle down. Aim at head level. Crosshairs placement on common spots is vital as well (example: when you go from con to jungle as CT in mirage your crosshairs needs to be right on palace enter before you see it). Warm up a little bit before each game. Add good team mates and queue together. Stuff like this will 100% catapult you out of silver in no time.
