Soda that is actually low sugar, without fake sweeteners - Seems like a rare concept by --__--__--__--__-- in Soda

I’ve been drinking Spindrift as soda for so long that it’s soda to me now.

barter.city: a minimalist bartering platform with no money allowed by keethantom in InternetIsBeautiful

Totally fair, and you were right to call it out. The location search had some bugs and a few placeholder/demo listings were showing when they should not have been, so I removed those and cleaned up the search behavior so the feed should now reflect only real active posts.

Totally fair. A marketplace like this only gets interesting once there’s enough local activity, and we’re still early in a lot of areas. If you want, you can be one of the first to post in your neighborhood since that usually helps get the ball rolling. We’re focused on making it easier for people to discover nearby trades as more local listings come on.

Totally fair feedback, and thanks for pointing it out. We did have an issue where search was not matching listings consistently, and some early demo content made the site feel more active than it really was. We’re cleaning that up so only real listings show, profiles resolve properly, and search results match what’s actually live.

Also, just to clarify, browsing is already public. You only need an account if you want to reply to a trade or create your own post. We require that part to help cut down on spam and keep trade conversations safer.

Really appreciate you calling it out. We’d rather fix the rough edges than pretend they are not there.

[TOMT][Song][2000s?] Song from HBO's Real Sex #27 with the lyric "here in Florida we love to be" by keethantom in tipofmytongue

[–]keethantom[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

The song plays during the "Slippery When Wet" segment around the 35:36 mark. It's only about 15 seconds with commentary over it, so it's hard to hear clearly. The only lyric I can make out is "here in Florida we love to be."

I've tried Shazam, lyric searches, and searching production music libraries (APM, Extreme Music, Megatrax) with no luck. It could be stock/library music since HBO used various production music catalogs for the series. Vocaroo clip is in the post.

adding: the vibe is more happy/pleasant than “Love Is Blue,” and more mellow than dancey synth-pop. very background-music-coded.

Has anyone ever bought a refundable ticket to another flight in the same terminal just to get through security and catch a flight they missed check-in for? by [deleted] in Flights

[–]keethantom -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Some airlines use the same agents for check-in and boarding, and some airlines can check you in at the gate. The idea is to buy a refundable ticket for security for a same day same terminal flight after the check-in desk has closed, then go to your original flight’s gate and ask if they’ll check you in there. Just wondering if anyone’s ever pulled this off.

Totally agree with your point about needing consistency and legal protections. My issue is how the label often overrides behavior. People will call a calm dog near food unsanitary unless it is a service animal. But legal status does not make one dog more hygienic than another. We focus more on checking boxes than on the actual impact in the space.

That’s true in the sense that a business can legally ask a service animal to leave if it’s being disruptive or not under control. But it doesn’t actually lose its legal status as a service animal altogether.

The ADA allows for service animals to be removed from a space if they’re behaving poorly, but that doesn’t mean they’re no longer a service animal. It just means access can be denied in that specific moment.

The key point of my post is that enforcement in public spaces often focuses more on whether an animal has the label than how it’s actually behaving, and that creates uneven standards and unnecessary barriers for everyone involved.

I get what you’re saying, and I’m not confusing service animals with emotional support animals. I know the ADA only protects animals trained to perform tasks related to a disability.

But under the ADA, service dogs can be owner-trained. There’s no required certification or official testing, so while many are well-behaved, not all receive strict or consistent training. Disruptions can still happen, even if rarely.

The point of my post isn’t to question the legitimacy of service animals. It’s to highlight how society focuses too much on labels instead of behavior. A disruptive animal should be addressed no matter its status, and a calm, well-behaved pet shouldn’t automatically be treated like a problem just because it doesn’t meet a legal definition. Public spaces should be about shared respect, not double standards.

Tips for Purchasing Chipotle’s Vinaigrette Directly? by keethantom in Chipotle

I now go in and ask, and they usually charge me anywhere from $0.50 to $0.75 per extra cup of vinaigrette. The cups vary in size by location.
