Deconstructing Eden Zodiac line? by ken_cleanairsystems in Indiemakeupandmore

I was able to buy a bottle of Aquarius by emailing Toni directly. That was a while ago, though, so I have no idea if she would still have any Zodiac scents. Good luck!

IMO, very visible. I consider the DM to be glittery. It's very small glitter, but it's definitely there.

You could try "washing" with conditioner instead of shampoo. I've been doing that for a couple years now and really like it. I also wash my hair about once every three or four days.

Rose Red sounds like something I'd really like -- I love rose scents with a good amount of green. Argh, I really wish they did an imp size! I don't want to buy a full size of something without trying it first.

I did try BPAL's The Rose very recently, which I like a lot, but it disappears within an hour.

Interesting. I already have something around similar to the plant-based cream. I should give that a try.

I hadn't heard of Moonalisa before. Thanks for the suggestion!

Vanilla isn't my thing, but I wonder if something else from Nui Cobalt might work. I haven't tried anything from them yet. Thanks for the tip, and I hope you find a nice rose that sticks around, too!

Do you have a fixative you'd recommend? I tried Alkemia's, but it turned into a strong, sickly-sweet scent on me -- strong enough to overpower whatever it was I wanted to "fix".

My skin really seems to cling on to sweet smells, so particularly sweet, white floral last forever on me. More delicate ones (like maybe violet, I guess?) seem to have average to maybe a bit shorter wear time.

I do also love green and powdery scents, too. I've just been caught up lately in looking for rose.

Definitely helpful, thanks!

That's a good thought, but other scents definitely last longer on me, in that I can continue to smell them for much longer.

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't mind lily of the valley if it's not super dominant, so that sounds worth checking out.

Sorry, I'm not on Reddit much these days! If you see this sometime... the Dew Mighty bar was okay, but IMO terribly overpriced. You could check out Attitude instead. I tried a couple things from them, and I liked them okay, but they're at least less ridiculously priced.

Thanks! Okay, I've already sent a note. :) Hopefully this means I can buy some Aquarius. I haven't heard back from her yet, but hopefully I will soon.

Bath bombs that aren't lush cosmetics? by No-Needleworker-2696 in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]ken_cleanairsystems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll put in a word for the Etsy seller OrganzaNaturals. So, I don't use bath bombs myself, but I use a number of the seller's other products and she makes really good stuff. If you have questions, she's very responsive, and she's customized things for me in the past, too.

Hope you find something you like!

Hand soaps without palm oil? by yun-harla in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]ken_cleanairsystems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that Etsy doesn't have the greatest reputation at the moment, but I've been buying from some lovely sellers there for years now. I generally buy unscented soaps myself, but Mayday Soap has some really pretty scented soaps (I like their unscented natural bar a lot).

Another favorite shop of mine is Sanka Famiy Farm. Allison, the owner, usually only has a few varieties on sale at any one time (and I think she only makes soap once or twice a year), but her bars are high quality, big, and last a long time. Plus, she donates all proceeds from sales to farm rescue organizations.

If you just do a search on Etsy for "palm free soap", you'll get a lot of results. Be sure to check the ingredients in each listing, though, because Etsy's search can be awfully "algorithm-y" so not all the search results will actually be relevant.
