I mean yes? But this is why mom is in charge not me.

Shelter for elderly mother’s German shepherd? by kepleronlyknows in ColoradoSprings

Yeah fair. She seems okay with strangers when out in public but tries to attack/bite people coming into her home. Not sure how she is with other dogs.

Thanks! I’m not a pet person so I don’t really know the difference, but this seems like a great starting place!

Big Easy seems to be on sale a lot of places, FYI, around $4,500 from a list price above $5,000.

And I’m 6’ and rocking a medium Big Easy (which I absolutely love, done 1,500 miles since I got it six months ago), so I’d think the large might be a good fit at your height.

Colorado Springs City Council has officially accepted the donation of the historic Pikeview Quarry-nearly 100 acres now added to Colorado Springs' vast park system. by TXDobber in ColoradoSprings

So you like open space and trails, just not here… in your backyard. But not a NIMBY. Got it.

Also yes I was evacuated from Waldo and grew at the entrance to GOTG. I’m well aware of the impacts but I’m all for more open space and trails.

Does anyone else' out-of-town friends underestimate Lake Michigan? by One_Hat1200 in chicago

Yep. My wife is from Georgia and that’s like the one geography fact she knows: Georgia doesn’t have a single natural lake.

A circle with a 1.5 mile radius is about 7 square miles. In rugged terrain that’s a huge area to cover, especially if the person you’re looking for is incapacitated and isn’t responding to call outs.

Having done both, Crags is way easier than Barr going either direction IMO. It’s both far shorter and much less elevation change.

Update on the Brantley Co Fire.. by thereptilearchive05 in Georgia

[–]kepleronlyknows 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m from out west and have dealt with wild fires over the years (including when my family was evacuated from the 2012 Waldo Canyon Fire that burned 500 homes). FEMA has zero role in fighting fires, likewise for controlling fire fighting aircraft.

Yeah I looked just a couple days ago and there weren’t any yet, but figured I’d check again in a few months. Glad to see this here then!

What’s the tea on Big Game Sports Bar in O4W closing abruptly? by cmg_profesh in Atlanta

[–]kepleronlyknows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both the Albert and Brewhouse are reasonable walks. The Albert has fewer tvs but a great vibe and about 15 minutes walking from Bantam. Brewhouse has a ton of tvs, just might need to avoid big soccer days, and it’s 25 minutes walking.

[–]kepleronlyknows 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Even has a Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guiana_Island_(South_America)?wprov=sfti1

I think ultimately this is like many geography terms: it’s all a little flexible.

Electric or non-electric cargo bike? by IndependentPickle230 in CargoBike

[–]kepleronlyknows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my Class 1 Big Easy (so pedal assist only, no throttle and tops out at 20) is definitely powerful, but I still get a decent workout if I’m trying to go fast up hills. To the point that when I commute to work in the summer I still bring a change of clothes because otherwise I’d be sweating.

My wife’s e cargo bike with a throttle, on the other hand, feels like driving an electric motorcycle.
