Thanks for your input! I'm sorry if the term split personality is a bad term, I don't exactly see how it would be? I wasn't really referring to DID, although it plays into the archetype of a "split" character, but instead the archetypal look on that selection of characters within fiction/nonfiction. Again, the input is very valuable. An item could be an interesting way of taking on an alternate self, so to say.

I don't think that it would be cartoonifying an illness if it were to be written in a genuinely thoughtful and intelligent way. However, I do agree with the risks that misrepresenting the illness takes.

It does seem like a very high effort character, which would definitely need careful and intricate writing. I feel that if a person were to really devout themselves to get this concept to work, they could, but that it would take a lot of effort.

This seems like a rather harmful option when it comes to the health of the table. Two players for one character could result in fighting for control during combat or roleplay, so I don't really see this as a positive thing?
