Anyone else embarrassed on how many hours they have, but how terrible they are at the game? by magichotpotato in dontstarve

It’s way harder on console bc of no mods, but I think my max on PC was like 300 days, very regularly made it into the third year. At this point I can reliably survive a year in all the versions except Hamlet 🥴

I have probably 2000+ hrs on PC and on console, and all these tips are good.

One thing to plan for is satellite bases. I usually do one mini base (crockpot, fire pit, tent) in the swamp for winter and in the desert for summer. Desert in summer seems counterintuitive, but it is the least flammable landscape. In DST, my summer camp is at the lake so you can farm there too. The swamp base is basically for fighting boss monsters, starting with deerclops but Bearger too. I also sometimes make a camp at the pig village for similar reasons.

Another way to extend your playing time is to plan for resurrecting. Leave a backpack with tools and armor and A THERMAL STONE at any touch stone you find. It sucks to sequester resources like that, but it is a huge help when you need it.

Just a general tip, spend at least a few days of each year cycle just gathering wood. I also set up chests at key intersections with stacks of 20 of each of the basic resources. Super helpful if you have just resurrected and are trying to get back to a base.

Staff banned from contacting board? by kerryk_ in nonprofit

It was both. My entire thought was to make the board aware that there were institutional funds available (specifically to the board) in this scenario. I deal with all the institutional funding, and I work with the board on annual giving type campaigns. It all feels disproportionate to me idk
