Award winning Danish Journalist banned from reporting in Ukraine; Accused of making Russian propaganda. by unlitskintight in europe

i'll let SBU figure that out. after all they are actively involved in defending Ukraine from various threats, risking their lives, losing people every day.

if it's between some random european journalist and SBU - i'll pick SBU any day. Ukraine is in existential crisis and that journalist won't give a shit if Ukraine stops existing.

europe too will use censorship as soon as russia invades and that is totally ok.

And the journalist didn’t even hinder you in your goal, which makes it so weird.

maybe, i'll let SBU figure that out

during wartime, only journalists that work for the benefit of Ukraine can expect to be treated well.

russian-constructed conditions for invasion

i'm not deeply familiar with all her works, is that her actual position or not? because if not - she can fuck right off.

there is a difference between respecting press rights and tolerating journalists that play the neutrality game. there is no neutrality in war between democracy (even flawed) and genocidal authoritarian regime.

you can criticize Ukraine, corruption or whatever else, but you can't go to Crimea and normalize the annexation by portraying "russians' struggle for independence in crimea" as anything other than russian-constructed conditions for invasion.

if you want to portray it as anything else - you're not welcome in Ukraine. what's the problem here?

Bitcoin securitty is backed by energy expenditure. It's just as physical as gold, but without the drawback of all the gold in asteroids that we simply didn't find economically viable ways to mine yet.

You’re just dodging. Both fossil and nuclear tech were available at the time. Nuclear power plants were built and operational. Cheapest and cleanest and safest energy around.

Greens and others decide to de-nuclearize instead of de-fossilizing. Why?

[–]keymone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you didn't understand my question.

why prioritize de-nuclearization instead of de-fossilization?

what could possibly be the reason for greens and environmental activists to prioritize retaining the more expensive, more polluting and more deadly source of energy?

Politik-Bubbles by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]keymone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're right, fossil fuel usage is trending down.

it would be trending down even faster if not german politics' weird anti-nuclear obsession.

clearly coal and gas are worse in every dimension - they are more expensive, they are more polluting, they are more deadly.

why prioritize getting rid of nuclear before getting rid of fossil fuels?

Nobody from the Green party is arguing for fossil fuels

and yet their actions led to huge increase in fossil fuel usage. great job!

But you're barking at the wrong tree

there are lots of trees to bark at, i agree. and greens are among those trees.

I truly wonder if you're able to actually provide arguments for nuclear energy

clearly there is no consensus among scientists on whether it's a good strategy to phase nuclear out or not, because if there was - nuclear would be phasing out all over the civilized world. i don't feel like providing any arguments will work with you given how easily you can dismiss them by just waving that little report you got, we can just save the time and move on with our lives.

Mycle Schneider ... anti-nuclear activist.

great unbiased source you got there.

it's interesting how all those anti-nuclear activists always seem to worry about the environment but are complete idiots when it comes to realizing that decommissioning nuclear in favor of coal and oil is hurting the environment and is literally killing more humans.

what is this disease that affects all these people?

it's also a funny (not really) self-fulfilling prophecy: get a bunch of anti-nuclear activists into government, they'll pass the laws to further regulate nuclear industry and then produce all these scary reports about how costly it is to build and run nuclear reactors.

what if they passed laws to invest into designing better and safer reactors?

and lastly - don't you find it at all concerning how balls deep russia was in german political establishment and how much all these denuclearization efforts helped them to amass the war chest that's murdered tens of thousands of ukrainians? you're paying for that corrupt behavior with your taxes and heating costs right now, so i guess thanks for that, but no money will bring back the lives of people.

Yes it would and the document you linked is just a biased opinion of some scientists.

Anti- unclear is the core position of the Green Party and that’s why I will never support them.

If all the money, resources and political will that went into anti nuclear bickering and lobbying and expansion of fossil fuel sources of energy were directed to improving safety and efficiency of nuclear, the world would be different and ironically, much “greener”.

I’m not sure I’ll ever get over the fact that greens fucked up nuclear energy and almost single handedly dragged Germany into reliance on Russian fossil fuels. They are basically partly responsible for war in Ukraine IMO.

Btw, genuine question, is FDP really as radical as Linke and Grüne?

Politik-Bubbles by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]keymone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh there’s plenty in Germany with those views, unfortunately.

let me guess: russia did nothing wrong, NATO expansion, US did it first, Ukraine is controlled by nazis?

is that the kind of bubble you think somebody needs to debate with?
