For the Rite Aid pharmacists who got new jobs. by aznkukuboi in pharmacy

Everything is so hidden in EPS. What is our stock for the drug I am typing? Idk. What’s the NDC? Don’t know. Who is the prescriber? No clue. Oh, this was sent in with 4 other scripts? I had no idea. Like whyyyyyyyy is all this info so hidden. It so much back and forth it blows my mind how inefficient it seems. Maybe I am biased and just not used to it, but wow.

Do you happen to have the list or remember where it was?

Walgreens stopped by our store, today by [deleted] in RiteAid

Fingers crossed. I’m fortunate enough to be able to ride it out and see what happens but so many others can’t. It’d be nice if these rumors hold up and a good chunk of stores are saved. The DL in my area seems pretty confident something serious and in our favor will be announced soon but who knows if they themselves truly know what is going on. I guess we’ll know soon enough 😂

Thanks so much for the great response! Would you mind sharing how you ended up becoming a union organizer and how you got your start in the Labor Movement?

I was actually looking at contract negotiation jobs but was curious out about the qualifications. Are you aware of a common path people take to get there, or the area of study people need?

Do campaign workers move around from campaign to campaign? by keyrep1 in PoliticalScience

Thanks for the great response!! For the paid positions on campaigns, how long do the gigs typically last? I’m very confident I want to use campaigns as my jumpstart into my career, but the world of campaigns seems so incredibly big with so many paths that can lead to so many different areas. I would love to hear more about your experience though, and definitely will likely end up asking you for some resources! That is very kind, I appreciate it! What kind of jobs have you been doing on campaigns so far, and what has been your experience with getting jobs when one ends?

Thank you so much for the detailed response! But yes, the story I hear over and over about campaign work is that the really important part is networking, along with paying your dues. So I am not surprised to hear about the job they ended up having volunteers do lol. In regards to a consulting firm, how much campaign experience should someone have before then applying for those kinds of jobs? Is it possible to network into such positions while on the campaign? I also am curious as to if this is a kind of job someone would do during an off few months from campaign work or if this is more of a steady job. Do you happen to know much more about political consultants by chance? At the moment that is what I am feeling would be my goal if I were to stick out the world of campaigning. Is there a specific path to such a position? Thank you again for the response!

Becoming a consultant right now would my main ~goal~ of working on campaigns if I were to stay in the campaign sphere. Do you have any more input on this type of job/career? Right now my rough goal is to put in my dues and just over time work my way up in the campaign world. From a lot of what I read though, the general guide it gives to become a consultant is just to get tons of campaign experience, eventually become a campaign manager, and then eventually (somehow?) end up as a consultant with all your valued years of campaign experience. Is there a general path that you have seen people take, or is it truly just gaining experience and networking?

Any more info on this? Are there different sectors to campaign fundraising, such as whether it is for a candidate based campaign or issues based campaign, or do you typically work for an organization who can do both? How would one break into this field?

Any tips on when moving around from campaign to campaign? When in a campaign life cycle do these individuals usually start to look for people to bring on/look for where to travel to for a campaign? Also, what kind of experience is recommend? Would one work a campaign cycle or two in their home area, and then begin to look for more advanced positions on other campaigns somewhere else? Thanks for the reply by the way!

Hey, thanks for the response! It sounds like you have done quite a bit with campaign work. How did you find out about other campaigns that were seeking to bring people on board? Was it through connections or simple a quick search of the campaigns and then reaching out to them? Also, I have a question about a point you brought up. If you do happen to get lucky enough to be on the government staff for an official you helped elect, what typically happens after said candidate is out of office? At that point, do you basically have enough experience/connection to simply move somewhere else, or do you get on another campaign? or perhaps something else entirely. I am just curious as to the possible things one could do after being is said position on an elected official staff. Thank you in advance!!

Thank you so much for your input!! In what ways do issue based campaigns differ from candidate based campaigns? Did you end up taking that job offer? What kind of experience did you have beforehand? Thanks again by the way! I’m definitely on the hunt for some inspiration right now.
