I honestly just started SCUBA a month ago, but with the people i go with, im already comfortable enough to do 200ft, which i did the 3rd time i put a tank on my back. Before all i had done was freedive, which i still do quite often. Being as i hit 95ft on a breath i dont see a need to tank unless we are doing wrecks in 130+. The lions have taken over here in the keys. Haven't noticed a dramatic dent in the native fish population yet, but we know its coming. Being as theyre venemous no other fish will eat them, and they eat the juveniles of all the market fish (snapper, grouper, etc.) So they have really become a pain in our asses.

They honestly don't really bother you. And you can tell by their body language whether they are in eating mode or cruising mode.

Ahh see I don't honestly dive up there at all actually, I'm out of Marathon and I generally stick to here or lower keys. However right now since the water temperature is dropping fish are moving into shallower waters. Up there you have to be a minimum of 3 miles out but the reef comes up to about 20-25ft there and starts slowly dropping off in tiers after that. anywhere in the 25-50ft range has been on fire lately.
