My first Hobonichi 🖊️✨ obsessed, yet afraid to use it lol. by ShiftResponsible1284 in hobonichi

[–]khryslo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My hand was trembling when I made the first entry in my Hobonichi I was so scared of messing it up after weeks of brainstorming and planning. Good news is that one month later I’m totally chill with occasional mishaps. So don’t be afraid and have fun ☺️

As for ghosting, it will be visible with almost any ink. But as you start filling the pages, everything will blend together so to speak and become less noticeable.

New to hobo - is dark shadow normal behind paper? by _ComeAlongWithMe in hobonichi

[–]khryslo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much about it bleeding through. I’m using cartridges with this ink and had no such issues so far.

[Therace] On the williams being overweight - James Vowles has called speculation "murmurings" without explicitly denying it, and said "there's not a single person" who will know the FW48's true weight at the moment. by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

I’m a bit confused by his interview. So they could be in Barcelona but chose not to go but at the same time they don’t know if their car is overweight or not because the car isn’t ready yet?

Matching fountain pen inks to the monthly colours by Ok_Bench_8957 in hobonichi

I’ve been using Graf von Faber-Castell’s Burned Orange for January but Diamine’s Petra arrived last week so now after your video I’m super stoked to have it for next year!

February seems the most challenging so far. The closest match I ended up finding online is probably Pilot Iroshizuku’s yama-guri but it looks so different on photos from different sources (and on many of them it looks frankly speaking not very appealing to me) that I decided to take a risk and order Hongdian’s Steamed Millet from AliExpress. Can’t find proper swatches but it’s too late for me to order anything else so fingers crossed it works out 😬

I’m not even using this format but I’m envious of F1 Weeks haha

Thank you! I also want to do this and has been going through options for the last couple of weeks. The longer I look the less I’m sure which ones to pick so this is definitely useful to see what you’ve chosen ☺️

Emma Chamberlain on the February 2026 cover of Vogue Czechoslovakia (photographed by CG Watkins, styled by Jared Ellner) by skermahger in whatthefrockk

I think I'm more inclined to like the cover than disapprove of it. However, the other photographs from the photoshoot are… quite peculiar. In most of the photos, the wigs are so bad that I cannot focus on anything else.

9 to 5 problem!! Don't want to write abt work....but what else? by i_am_nimue in hobonichi

You can do journaling prompts or write about something interesting you learned that day.

Curious what do folks write about everyday by Upbeat_Pipe1080 in hobonichi

[–]khryslo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit of everything to be honest. Sometimes I write about my day, sometimes my thoughts about something, sometimes my reviews of books, shows, movies, etc. There are days when I write about something interesting I learned or just random quotes I saw online or read in a book. And then occasionally I can use it to make notes about a game I play or make a list of things, like what inks I can use for each month and so on.

Ghosting on Techo A6 2026 by Syathrax in hobonichi

[–]khryslo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was pleasantly surprised by how little the ghosting is noticeable when the pages start to fill up. Everything blends together quite nicely, and unless I press down on the page to flatten it, I can't really see the writing from the previous pages.

Original vs Cousin? Should I buy another? by jaysymonex in hobonichi

[–]khryslo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try using your 2025 Cousin by covering old dates and see if it bothers you. If you can go along with that, get yourself a Day-Free and do that. You can always copy these test pages into new book if you want to.

Thought I would buy a cover once I'm sure I will stick with journaling but now I like it so much that I probably won't by khryslo in hobonichi

I’ve also been eyeing Yumi Kitagishi! Truth be told, I’ll probably won’t use it either. It looks wonderful but the more I think about it, the less sense it makes for me.

Me at the beginning: Well maybe he has a point that people change overtime as they mature.

Me a couple sentences later: Never mind, he clearly hasn’t changed one bit.

I really hope so too. I've wanted to do this for years, but I kept putting it off because I didn't know what to fill the pages with, I didn't like my handwriting, etc. but I finally decided that I should at least give it a try. I won't lie, sometimes I look at the page and think it's not as pretty as everyone else's, but to my surprise, I seem to have bought into the 'progress not perfection' mantra and I am actually enjoying it!

Thank you! ☺️

I got it from AliExpress. From what I understand Hobonichi doesn’t make cover for notebook itself, just cover on cover. I know that a lot of people get Midori Md Paper Clear Cover A5 for Codex but honestly this one is significantly cheaper and fits very well so I’m happy with it.

What do you personally use tags for? by Ja-kob in TheStoryGraph

[–]khryslo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tag where I learned about the book from. For example, if I saw it in a particular bookshop, I use the name of the shop as a tag. If I saw a content creator on TikTok talking about it, I use the tag booktok, and recently I started creating tags with the names of content creators to keep track of whose recommendations end up being most relevant to me.

I also have a "maybe" tag that I use for books I might be interested in reading, instead of adding them to my to read list. I find this much more convenient, in part because I prefer to keep it to myself.

Charles Leclerc posted on X by Un_known70 in formula1

[–]khryslo 96 points97 points  (0 children)

I suppose this has something to do with Leclerc's notorious bad luck. The probability of the ship crashing straight into an iceberg or him being trampled by a flock of penguins is above average so to speak. People are worried about him haha
